I should have known better than to go bathing suit shopping without having a cocktail or three before hand. The days of just choosing a bathing suit based on a cute pattern are long gone, my friends! I want to enjoy the pool days with my two little girls and not be consumed with my flaws. After sharing my bathing suit shopping woes with friends I realized they shared a similar viewpoint, but for different reasons. Some of us want to cover the postpartum pooch, some run into previous students at the local pool, and some want to make sure they can enjoy time with their kids while feeling confident. While we all had different reasons, we were all on a mission to find a similar swimsuit.

After many shopping trips (online and in store), I managed to find some practical AND cute “mom bod-approved” options:

Athleta

Athleta has something in every category, every color, and every size. There is a reason why Athleta is a mama favorite year after year. No, I’m not getting paid to rave on this brand. They have a wide range of coverage and support so it is easy to mix and match. Plus, their website is very user friendly if you need to shop online. See all of Athleta’s options.

Calia by Carrie Underwood

Ya’ll, I was super impressed by Carrie Underwood’s fitness line! I wandered into Dick’s Sporting Goods after seeing her on the cover of US Magazine and even though I will never look like her, the swimsuit fit me really well. The price range and quality are great in my opinion.  See all Calia By Carrie Underwood’s options.

Everything But Water

The staff is always helpful in this boutique bathing suit shop. Although more expensive, this is a great store to get name brand options from head to toe. They also have D + options for those with larger busts. See all of Everything But Water’s options.

Target

50831603I know, I know. Some of you have banned Target for all of eternity. For those that still frequent Target, they have an affordable price point with an array of options for every size. They have everything from tankinis to one-piece options that still are a fun style. See all of Target’s options.

Zella

I am currently obsessed with the Zella “Live In Leggings,” so I decided to try out their swimwear line. There isn’t a huge variety in color choices, but the tops and bottoms fit well and hold you in all the right places. See all of Zella’s options.

Fabletics

Have you heard of Fabletics? Basically, you pay a monthly amount and receive a new outfit each month. You have the option to pass as many times as you want before the 5th of the month. If you can remember to pass on the month’s you do not want to purchase anything, I think it’s a great deal! They have several options for bright and colorful one-pieces or longer tops. See all of Fabletic’s swim options.

I hope this helps give you a head start (or a reboot) on your swimwear shopping!
