I’ve been putting off this blog for as long as possible, but it’s time I share my DIY coffee filter letters. I’ve been putting it off for multiple reasons: 1.) I didn’t take photos documenting my creation, which makes for a difficult DIY blog. 2.) So many coffee filters were required to complete this project that honestly, I never wanted to write about or talk about coffee filters ever again. 3.) I didn’t come up with this creation on my own and the “how to” blog was sent to me by my BFF who was getting married thus not making this an authentic creation or interesting blog.

Either way, today I’m sharing it!

The email that my BFF sent to me went something like this: (I lied…this is actually the EXACT email from the Soon-To-Be-Bride/BFF to me.)

“Okay, so I had to delete a lot of the stuff I wanted from my florist because she was charging an arm and leg for it. But there was 1 thing that I really wanted but can’t afford her to handle and was wondering if my talented creative bestie would be willing to help. I’ll pay for all expenses (should be really cheap) or even come over and do it with you… but since I don’t have a creative arts and crafts bone in my body I wanted to get ur help. I really wanted our initials to hang on the Barr Mansion door, but can’t afford to have it made. I found these super cute and cheap alternatives that will go amazing with my décor.

See the blog below about it:

I’d like an X and a C….

Think you could help with a cardboard box and coffee filters? I could even come over and pump it out with you. I’m just too nervous to do it alone.

Let me know!

LOOOVE U!”

So there are several things about this email that are just ALL wrong. 1.) She can definitely (just keepin’ it real) afford to pay the florist for the floral version; she just doesn’t WANT to pay the florist for something so simple… (I get it…really…I do). 2.) Seriously, you think that since I’m a stay at home mom and made a wreath and some chalkboard mason jars that suddenly I’m your “talented and creative bestie”??? LOL! 3.) Really? You’ll come over and help me make these coffee filter letters 2 weeks before YOUR wedding??? Puhlease! 4.) Specific much? The BFF asked for my help, but then specifically told me what and how she wanted the project completed… how do I say “no” to that? 5.) I was the Matron of Honor… it’s like totally my duty to say “yes” to everything asked of me!

So there you have it peeps! I followed instructions on another person’s blog and here’s how the finished product turned out! I have to admit, they were gorgeous, did the trick, and my BFF LOVED them!!! WINNING! Goodness, I follow instructions well 🙂 And BFF, you better never tell me if you throw these things away, because I will NEVER forgive you… I burnt every finger on hot glue, my back ached, my house was a mess in coffee filter clippings, and I had to tri-fold at least 1000 coffee filters !!!! Okay…maybe only 300.

What do you think of the DIY coffee filter letters? Love ’em? Hate ’em? Want to try ’em?
