Seriously! There are apps for EVERYTHING! I love being an iPhone owner and pride myself on my ability to figure anything out within minutes due to the world wide web being at my fingertips. Since I became a mom, my iPhone has become more than an extension of my brain, it’s my ever-growing time capsule where I do everything from take hundreds of pictures of my growing tot to writing a “note” when she does something funny so I can transfer it to her baby book. Well, as Caroline has gotten older, my iPhone has also become prime entertainment when we’re out and about. If she starts to squawk, I have a library of Yo Gabba Gabba episodes ready for play among other “secret weapons.” I thought it would be helpful for all of you mamas out there to share with you some of my favorite apps that you can go and DL for free. Not all are to entertain the kiddo, that’ll be a separate blog.

1. Pink Pad

I learned about this app from Allison. It tracks my period and let’s me know the days I’m fertile (aka the days Matt has to stay away from me.) Funny story about this app, I was sitting in a meeting just two days ago and this notification popped up on my screen and my male co-workers looked at my with raised eyebrows (TMI!) Welp…Sure enough, she made it in town and I was ready. But in all seriousness, this is a great app if you are trying to add to your family and need to know what days are best to get it on. It also has a mood tracker so if you’re feeling particularly cranky, emotional or moody, plug that info in…you might catch a pattern.

2. Potty Time with Elmo

We’re in the middle of potty training our girl. She loves to go #1, but we’re having issues with the other #. Her potty sings and she loves it, but lately she’s needed some extra motivation. I searched hi and lo for some potty training games online, purchased a potty training jar, but in the end, it was Elmo she needed. The Potty Time with Elmo app walks kiddos through a story about “Baby David” going potty and has songs, too. Caroline loves it and if your kiddo loves Elmo, I’m sure s/he will, too!

3. Photo Notes Free

This is a favorite find of mine recently. Do you remember those stickers you could throw on pictures that added a caption like “WOW” or “UR PRETTY!” Well, now you can customize thought bubbles and then upload the picture to FB or send it to your husband if you’re trying to break the ice after a tiff. It’s tons of fun and it’s free.

Obviously there are some other notable favorites like Facebook, Instagram, etc. but I wanted to share three of my favorites that aren’t necessarily #1 in popularity these days. What about you? What apps do you love?

  1. Okay so I have to admit I went and got pink pad after I read about it here! Gotta be tracking my awful mood! Thanks!

  2. I love OUR GROCERIES.
My husband and I share one account and keep shared shopping lists for HEB, Target, Home Depot, etc.

CARD STAR – you can store all those “reward member” numbers on this app so you don’t have to. Carry around all those cards on your keychain or in your purse.

  3. I love Mint.Com App  It’s a great way to budget our finances, to see where our money goes and what we can do to save more!   I also love Pink Pad, TMZ and Huffington Post!
