I want to start this blog off by stating that I have extremely thick, wavy hair and a lot of it too! With that said, I have tried every product under the sun that will miraculously fix frizz, straighten and control. Some worked but most didn’t. While I was watching Good Morning America, a product was showcased that claimed that this pony tail holder wouldn’t dent your hair. Skeptical, I immediately went to the website and ordered it – because that’s just what I do. Emi Jay Hair Ties were created by two teenagers with an eye for fashion and a simple idea. The hair ties are nothing more than the perfect amount of stretch matched with the perfect tones.

I was so excited to finally receive my six Emi Jays about two months later because they were on backorder. Let me tell you, they hold my hair in a perfect pony tail and, to my surprise, I can actually wrap it three times around without it feeling like I just got a facelift and without feeling like my hair is going to slowly fall. They are perfect! I can clean the house with my perfect pony, pick up the kids from school while looking fashionable (Jennifer Aniston wears them too) and then when it’s time for the husband to walk in the door, I can take it out, flip my hair and be his sexy housewife. There’s no dent and no sign my hair has been up all day. The best part is I can put it on my wrist for a cute accessory!

Emi Jay Hair Ties come in a variety of colors and prices. Here is a complete list of options. However, if you want to try just a few, Nordstrom also sells them in several different colors and are 3/$6.50! I’ve noticed DIY hair ties too that I’ve purchased from ebay and, in my opinion, they feel and look the same but don’t hold my hair as well.  Other companies such as Free People have also come out with their version of these hair ties but I haven’t tried those and they aren’t cheaper anyway so I’m sticking with my Emi Jay. If anyone has tried another brand, let me know because I’m always up for trying new stuff!

What kind of hair tie do you use? Are you willing to give the Emi Jay’s a try?

  1. You can try lucky ties and twistbands. Both ties are cheaper than emi jay and twistbands even offers a subscription service. All three kinds of hair ties are equal in their quality.
