Christmas is over and it is a new year…the next holiday is Valentine’s and I am in full swing of getting things started for my boys classes! I don’t do any decorating around my house for Valentine’s Day, maybe front door décor, but I LOVE helping them make Valentine’s for their friends. With that being said, and in many other areas, I am all over Pinterest searching for super cute, inexpensive, and easy stuff…..and in my case having 3 sons I need things that aren’t girlie! Here are a few of my favorites:

“You are the Milk to my Cookie”

I found these little gems on a website I LOVE called Very Jane….but the designer has her own site called PartyOnDesigns.  I bought a few sets at $5.50 each, I needed enough for 2 of my boys plus some extras for friends not in their classes.

1. The labels are already printed, so all you do is buy clear treat bags at hobby lobby {haven’t been to get mine yet, but they are just a couple of $ for around 20-25}

2. Bake or buy cookies {I am going to bake chocolate chip cookies….probably the pink ones (see pic below), but you could also buy prepackaged cookies too}

3. Have your kiddo write their name in the spot while the stickers are still on the sheet to make it easier for writing

4. Put the cookie in the bag, seal it, slap that adorable sticker on there, and Voila! You are done-skie!!

“Happy Valentine’s Day Love Bug”

I am making these for Garner’s class….he LOVED the bugs!! {He did struggle a little with the fact that there wasn’t anything sweet to eat with this one, that is what I LOVE about it!}

All you need is:

1. The print out….I downloaded it and you can find it HERE

2. Plastic bugs – Amazon $9 for a pack of 14 {I ordered 2 packs}

3. Super sticky tape called This to That – Hobby Lobby should have it, but I ordered some from Amazon $4.50

4. Brown kraft paper – Hobby Lobby $3

“Will you O’fish’ally be my Valentine”

I made a different version of these last year for Porter’s class….

I bought clear treat bags $2 for a pack of 20

Printed out cute labels on my computer on paper I already had and use the scalloped paper punch that I own already – FREE

Bought prepackaged Goldfish Valentine themed bags $6 for a pack of 20

“I Dig You”

I made these for Kadon & Garner’s classes last year and they loved them!

I bought the shovels in bulk on eBay…not sure what I paid, but it was a good price

M&M’s – I think I used 4 bags at about $2.50 a bag

Clear treat bags at $2 for 20

I printed the labels myself and used a paper punch I have already – FREE

 Lastly I mentioned PINK chocolate chip cookies….I think I will give it a whirl at making these yummy and festive treats! I love anything PINK! You can find the recipe HERE.

All of these Valentine’s are super fun and easy to make, plus there is always a way to improvise if you can’t find a particular item! The kids in your child’s class will LOVE receiving these fun goodies. I know I always love and appreciate a homemade Valentine’s. Brandon {my sweet hubs} used to tell me that I created more work for myself because we have 3 boys that could care less that I insist on homemade Valentine’s….well he was proven wrong last year. On separate occasions Kadon and Garner both told me {all on their own by the way} that they love that I take the time to make their Valentine’s each year instead of just buying them. My heart seriously melted and it made every single second worth it!!! I loved that they noticed and did care. They may not feel that way in high school, but I am going to do it as long as I can 😉

Do you & your kiddos make homemade Valentine’s every year? Which are your favorites?
