We all have at least one thing that we loooooove, and maybe sometimes we did or still do feel a little guilty about it as mothers, wives, or as a woman. I asked the Austin Moms Blog team what each of their guilty {or not so guilty} pleasures are. I am a firm believer in each of us having a little something that just really makes us happy and maybe makes our day brighter, makes our job easier, makes us a better mama or wife, just better. We deserve it darn it.

I toyed with the idea of having someone come in and clean my house for me for a long long time. I went back and forth so many times because it was hard to justify, which is code for – it made me feel guilty since I am a stay at home mom and have plenty of time to do it. I am a wee bit OCD and want things done a certain way and love for it to all be done at once. Well hell, that is impossible with 3 little boys, a husband, and 2 dogs. I don’t just do normal cleaning, I do my baseboards, blinds, fans, etc on a regular basis. So, I decided that trying to keep up with all of that plus sheets and such is for the birds. I weighed out whether I wanted to waste my time trying to do it all myself while trying to be a mommy/wife or just pay some one to help me out once a week. Well needless to say, I LOVE that woman that shows up at 9am once a week…she is amazing and I am a much happier person. Even my Hubs likes how less stressed I am because the house is consistently done…when it isn’t I tend to get bitchy. No man wants that. 😉

We are pretty similar 😉 ” My biggest guilty pleasure is our weekly maid!   I used to *really* feel guilty about it since I’m home with the kiddos…. But it enables me to spend more quality time with my babes instead of dusting and vacuuming and changing sheets, etc.  It’s worth every.single.penny!!”

“My guilty pleasure is pampering myself. I never miss a manicure, pedicure, massage, hair appointment, etc.”  {Vanessa’s would have been my #2…I love me some pampering and girlie time!}

{April}

“My guilty pleasures are domestic things like cooking, baking, sewing and knitting.  I get so into it that I neglect the important stuff like laundry and showers. haha.”

{Elizabeth}

“My biggest guilty pleasure is Bravo…I love it all!”

{Allena}

“I don’t really feel guilty about too much that I get to do for myself bc those treats are few and far between! I feel guilty about the stuff I never seem to be able to do-like cook dinner or pick up my house!”

{Lisa}

“My biggest guilty pleasure is SLEEP! No explanation needed.”

{Allison}

“My BIGGEST guilty pleasure as a human (not mom or woman) is VINO!!! I seriously couldn’t live without wine. I don’t get drunk off of it or anything crazy… it’s just a glass or two a night that helps to keep me sane. I have zero problem not drinking wine while I’m pregnant so I know I’m not some addict, but I literally can’t wait to get this little person out of me for multiple reasons, one being so I can get back to my guilty habit! I’m pretty sure if I visited a doctor, he/she would prescribe me anti-anxiety medication—who needs that though when you have red wine?!?!?”

“My guilty pleasure are energy drinks….on those mornings when I wake up so tired I’m not sure of my name.  I know they’re not good for ya….I guess that’s why I feel “guilty” about them.  :)”

All of us ladies have a variety of guilty pleasures that keeps us better all the way around and that is good for everyone. It may be a good thing that we all don’t combine all of our treats, or it would be a super energized, mani/pedi-ed, hair styled, wine drinking, sweater knitting woman who is not sleep deprived, with a super clean house, all while watching the Real Housewives. HA. Kinda sounds like a dream….so back to reality.

What is your guiltiest {or not so guilty} pleasure?
