When I was in college Applebee’s was a regulars spot on my dining out rotation. For some reason as I got older, popped out a kiddo and got into the whole family making biz, it slipped off my list and was replaced with my daughter’s favorites like Chick-fil-a and McDonalds.
Well, Applebee’s was gracious enough to offer me an opportunity to revisit my ole restaurant pal to try it’s new Big Flavors from the Big Easy menu and I am SO sad I missed years of Applebee’s. The restaurant has completely changed from my memory and I will be adding it back to the rotation with the fam.
We were greeted by a very friendly server who (didn’t know I was writing a review) shared a few of his menu favorites. He also told us about the Big Flavors menu and recommended the Creamy Cajun Steak and Shrimp so that’s exactly what we ordered. Now, I’ve been to NOLA and while it wasn’t my favorite place on earth (Note: I did go in July and it was hot…HOT…and sticky) the food was to die for and I was very pleased with the menu choice because it was like being on Burbon Street, but not as sticky! The food was yummy, the serving size was perfect. My favorite thing about my visit to Applebee’s was that not only was the service excellent, it was relatively quick and the quality of the meal didn’t suffer. OH Yea…and my other favorite…the dessert shooter. DELISH. And when I say delish, it was like the best dessert I have had in a long time.
