I love celebrating birthdays. I don’t go all pin-tastically crazy or anything like that, but I love making that someone feel really special on their day. Especially my kiddos. To me, nothing says I love you like a day of eating and doing whatever you want.

I am not a creative or artistic person. I think part of the problem is the vision in my head is always nicer than the finished product, so I quit trying, haha. Anyway, one area where I do excel? Cake decorating. I know, I know…totally random. But it all goes inline with my love of birthdays!

Some of my creations!

Trent’s birthday is in about 6 weeks. And I can’t get that kid to commit to a theme to save my life. We’ve bounced around from Rescue Bots to Scooby Doo to pirates to firetrucks to scary creatures and back again! Kid, pick a theme already!! Since he really gets it, I want to get it right for him, so this is starting to stress me out. I need time to get an invitation made and in the mail and a cake plan created. Parties take time to come together! Even parties that aren’t decorated to the nines. A wise woman (aka my mom) once taught me the more you decorate, the more you have to take down. {grin}

Help!! I know it’s silly, but I’m worried he’ll hate his party because he changed his mind on a theme. (#firstworldproblems)

Anybody have words of wisdom for getting your kid set on a party?

  1. I remember I had to show my son a couple different cake ideas I had in mind(love pinterest for that)..He picked his favorite and we got him pumped up about it and just ran with that. 😉 Good luck. I’m sure his party will be a hit no mattrr what theme you go with. Hugs to you guys. ~ Amy
