Austin mommies, are you in need of something to do this weekend?  Even if you already have plans, you may want to reschedule because this weekend MommyCon is coming to our little Texas town!

If you are scratching your head and asking “What in the world is MommyCon?” I can assure you that it is not some sort of futuristic mommy machine but rather one of the nation’s biggest parenting conferences  MommyCon is traveling to seven cities across the US this year, and fortunately Austin is one of them!

MommyCon is an event created by the women behind The Mommy Dialogues, and while the conference is primarily focused on natural parenting subjects like cloth diapers and babywearing, there is truly something for every family!  This year will even feature a “Sex and Community” talk from Jessica Martin Webber of the Leaky Boob.

Here is a look at what else you can expect at MommyCon Austin this weekend:

  • Babywearing lounge where parents can learn step-by-step how to use different types of wraps and carriers
  • Cloth diapering workshop
  • Car Safety Seminar
  • Infant Massage workshop
  • Breastfeeding Lounge by Human Milk for Human Babies
  • Birth panel of doctors, midwives and doulas sponsored by the Central Texas Birth Center
  • Pediatrics info panel

You can still by single or family tickets on the MommyCon Website.  Group tickets are also available for a discount on groups of 5 or 10.

MommyCon Austin is happening this Sunday, May 19, at the Palmer Events Center.  The event runs from 9:30am – 5:30 pm.   Will I see you there?
