Barton Hills FarmsIt’s Pumpkin Patch season! Last year, we had an epic pumpkin patch fail because the day we went  to Barton Hill Farms was during a torrential downpour. We ended up at a brewery in Bastrop instead. Actually, that sounds like more of an epic win than epic fail but I digress. Luckily, Barton Hill Farms is open again this year and added a few more activities that are fun for the whole family.

I was lucky to get invited to a special preview of Barton Hills’ Fall Festival & Corn Maze. So Lucy and I headed out to Bastrop on one of September’s hottest days. Fortunately, most of the farm is shaded by beautiful 100-year-old cottonwood trees.

Lisa CaldwellThe biggest attraction at Barton Hills Farm is the corn maze. Every year it has a different theme. This year, it’s a tribute to Willie Nelson in honor of his 80th birthday. You’ll find Willie trivia-clues and if you get the answer right, you’ll find your way through the maze more quickly.

New to Barton Hills this year is a 2000-square foot jumping pillow. That alone is worth the price of admission. Lucy must have had jumpy time for at least 20 minutes. There is also a barrel train with cars painted like cows. And Cindy’s Hog Wild Cafe opened a concession stand so you can have lunch and a cold beer while your little ones go pumpkin patch crazy.

Barton Hills Farm is located 20 minutes from Austin near Bastrop. Admission is $7 for ages three to 10 and $10 for ages 11 and up, and includes entry into the corn maze.  An all-access pass can be purchased for an additional $5 and includes unlimited access to the jumping pillow! Children two and under are free but must be accompanied by a paying adult. You can save a dollar by purchasing your tickets online.

Austin Moms Blog is giving away family packs of tickets to two lucky winners. All you have to do is answer a Willie Nelson trivia question in the comments. We’ll randomly draw two names from the correct answers and they’ll score four passes to Barton Hill Farms.

Question: What is Willie Nelson’s middle name?

Good luck!
