Earlier this week I had a conversation with a friend who is a strong, smart, healthy woman.  She is also a new mom.  And through her tears I repeated over and over, “You are doing a great job!”

Austin Moms Blog, Moms 4 Moms

It was a simple comment.  A very true comment. And a comment that needs to be shared more often.

As moms we understand how hard it is to get out of bed when your toddler won’t sleep past 5am.  We understand how a trip to Target seems like a vacation even if everyone has on pajamas.  We can relate when a mom is trying to juggle all of her grocery bags, her diaper bag, and her screaming children.  We know how important nap time is and how overwhelming it is to be “off schedule”.  We know the emotional stress of watching our children grow up WAY too fast.  And we understand the importance of focusing on our marriage but really just need enough energy to get dinner on the table before midnight.

Moms loving Moms

So next time you see a mom who needs a hug – stop her and let her know – Mom, you are doing a great job!

When you see a mom with two, three, five, maybe eight kids, and she is all by herself at the grocery store – stop her and let her know – Mom, you are doing a great job!

When you see a new mom who was able to get out of bed, put on clothes, get herself and her new baby into the car, and make it to the doctor on time – stop her and let her know – Mom, you are doing a great job!

When your girlfriend is MIA for days, doesn’t return phone calls, forgets your lunch date, and still doesn’t call you back – stop her and let her know – Mom, you are doing a great job!

When you see a mom getting fast food for her hungry children – stop her and let her know – Mom, you are doing a great job!

We belong to a special club and we need to support each other more often.  So… MOM, YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!!
