1st Day of School Keepsake:

This is an extremely popular trend, but it’s something that is easy to forget about! Don’t forget to keepsake that first day of school regardless of the grade.

I use my chalkboards for just about everything.

What You Need:

  • Old frame {with glass}
  • Chalkboard Spray Paint
  • Chalk

What You Do:

  • Remove the glass and evenly spray a thick layer with the chalkboard paint
  • Wait for it to dry
  • Put the glass back in the frame and you’ve got yourself a chalkboard!

It’s literally that easy. Next you can write whatever message you want…

Artwork Display:

You know how your kids come home with all of those adorable creations day after day after day? There are a ton of adorable ways to preserve the memories, but here’s an easy cute and affordable way to display their creativity!

What You Need:

  • Old Picture Frame
  • Artwork
  • Glue Sticks

What You Do:

  • Glue your child’s artwork onto a piece of paper or cardboard that is the same size of the frame
  • Display in the playroom or wherever!

Make a Back to School Movie:

OneDay is a brand new app (currently free on itunes) that provides thought-provoking themed questions for your kids to answer, you video the answers, and then OneDay stitches them together into a short movie put to music. There are all sorts of “stories’ from summer fun, school days, vacation memories, etc. It’s super easy to use and is perfect for recording those unique moments with your children…especially as we near the end of summer and head back to school.

Check out a snippet of what all OneDay can do!

Once created, the short movies are stored on your camera roll and are shareable on social media through the app. OneDay has so much more in store for the future, including in-app purchases of music options, themes, customizable questions, etc. Go download and check it out…we promise you’ll love it as much as we do!

The best part? You have another adorable keepsake of your kid’s for back to school!

Decorate Your Notebook:

Most schools have a lot of rules and restrictions these days with school supplies, but a fun way to spruce up your notebook is to use my favorite… chalkboard paint! Used for many of my DIY crafts, this is a fun way to show off your kid’s creativity.

Teacher Gift:

You can find a ton of cute ideas on Pinterest, but one that required little to NO effort on my part was an adorable crayon vase. It’s a nice touch for the first week of school and will totally win your child some brownie points.
