Transitioning to solids? Do you have a picky toddler? Do you find yourself stuck every night when it’s time to start making dinner? Well, you’re in luck! Our September Moms in the Know meeting focuses on making healthy food for both babies and kids!

MOMS IN THE KNOW

Our speaker this month is Cheryl Carey, Founder of Taste & See Healthy Baby Food

As a first-time parent, Cheryl Carey found herself with more questions than answers about when and how to make healthy food for her baby. She turned to her family, friends, books, and on-line resources for answers, but found that just as she finally knew what to do for Caleb, they were moving on to the next phase! Throughout this experience, she thought parents would benefit from a resource designed to educate them about introducing foods and making fresh, homemade food EARLY in the process rather than as they went along. Cheryl combines her love for cooking and her experience of introducing foods at each stage into classes and lessons for parents. “As we learn to make the healthiest choices for our babies, we can change the health, nutrition, and future of our families”.

We will cover…

Making your own baby food:

Do you want the BEST for your baby? Introducing solid foods to your baby creates feelings of both panic and excitement. Will you buy store bought baby food or prepare homemade baby food? Do you wonder if it makes a difference to prepare homemade baby food? The answer is YES! You will know the benefits to making your own homemade baby food by attending this class! The class includes an overview of the support and guidance Taste & See Healthy Baby Food offers with classes, in-home lessons, hands-on food preparation, and information & resources.

Making your own toddler food:

Cheryl will not only teach you about nutrition for your tots, but you’ll feel more confident about how to safely introduce solid foods at each stage, how to make homemade healthier foods, how they’re prepared and stored, and when you should consider buying organic.

  • You will be able to provide your child with the healthiest and most enjoyable experience with their first foods. You will know what your baby (or tot) is eating, because YOU MADE IT!
  • You’ll understand the importance of healthy food habits that protect our children from the risk of childhood obesity and disease.
  • You can build a foundation for your family to have a healthy lifestyle!
