Drew was a great sleeper swaddled. But at around 4 months, she was busting out of her swaddle on a regular basis, and I knew it was time to break the swaddle habit. I transitioned Trent too soon {and cold turkey}, and we regressed a lot. I did NOT want to repeat that mistake with Drew. Enter…the Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit. According to their website the Magic Sleepsuit: helps transition from the swaddle while keeping your baby cozy and secure. I was so eager to try it, I paid for expedited shipping to get it the very next day. The suit itself is hilarious looking – your baby looks like a cross between a marshmallow puff and an astronaut. But if it works, who cares, right??

Well… I don’t know what I thought about the sleepsuit.

Drew was a giant newborn {9 pounds} and pretty soon started dropping weight percentiles like crazy. So by the time we were transitioning her, she was 25%, and the sleepsuit was kind of big on her. So I think that prevented it from really working like it should. She went from waking up once a night to fidgeting a lot and waking up twice. I decided if I was going to be up more in the night, I’d rather not have a marshmallow puff baby to deal with. So after just a few nights, we transitioned to the sleep sack and haven’t looked back!

I think the Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit CAN work, it just wasn’t the magical transition I was hoping for.
