We recently heard someone say, “Barre3? What exactly is that place?” Well, we’re thrilled to not only tell you about Barre3, but also inform you that Austin Moms Blog will be hosting the Grand Opening of Barre3’s newest studio located in Circle C!

BARRE3 CIRCLE C GRAND OPENING (1)

What exactly is barre3®?

As dancers know, the ballet barre is a wonderful prop designed to support the body in both static and dynamic movement leading to long, lean muscles. Barre3 evolves the dancer’s workout by combining the grace of the ballet barre with the wisdom of yoga and the strength of Pilates. Barre3 classes are set to an upbeat soundtrack and follow a vigorous pace moving through a sequence of postures designed to shape and lift the entire body.

What should I expect from a barre3 class?

Well, you should know that no experience required. Their classes are designed to make everyone welcome and successful and the instructors are very helpful! Wear yoga-like attire and bring a water bottle. They have filtered water on-site and they supply all props including a barre3 core ball, light weights (don’t pick-up larger than 1-2lbs on your first visit…trust me), a yoga strap, Pilates mat, and of course a ballet barre.

No fancy shoes are required. In fact, you leave your shoes at the door, and socks are optional. They sell ToeSox at the studios because they have sticky soles and allow your feet to move freely, but it is not a requirement to have these.

Are you pregnant or postpartum?

Moms-to-be and new moms love barre3. If you’re pregnant or postpartum, please consult with your doctor before taking barre3 classes.
