Today, we gear up for Thanksgiving and prepare for holiday pics in the way of DIY thankful crafts and DIY holiday picture props!

Here are some easy ways to get in the spirit and teach our children about giving thanks. We also showcase some easy ideas on photography props!

Hand-Painted Decorative Pinecones:

What You Need:

  • Pinecones
  • Paint
  • Small Paint Brush

What You Do:

  • Paint the tips of the pinecones in any color that you want.
  • This is a SUPER easy craft and makes a statement.

DIY Thankful Tree

What You Need:

  • Planter
  • Tree Branches
  • Dirt/Rocks
  • Gift Tags or DIY Hanging Tags

What You Do:

  • Plant your tree branches in dirt or rocks
  • Hang your thankful tags
    • I decided to DIY mine. I used fall colored scrapbooking paper and cut into small rectangles with a decorative pair of scissors so the edges have design. Punched a hole and tied a piece of twine to create the hanger.
    • I used the DIY hand-painted pinecones as filler on the top.

DIY Thankful Pumpkin

Have some pumpkins leftover from Halloween? Don’t throw them away… make a Thankful Tree!

  • Pumpkin
  • White Spray Paint
  • Black Marker

What You Do:

  • Spray Paint the Pumpkin
  • Start writing your thankful messages!
