We celebrate Easter on April 1 this year, but it’s never too early to start planning for a bunny-ful holiday. Unwrap the season – start marking your calendars with egg hunts, spring flings and things of your choice. Here are details on Easter egg hunts in Austin —  unique venues to pursue fun and kiddie prizes, giddily encased in those brightly colored ovals of joy!



Bunny Bonanza | Friday, March 23 from 11 AM – 12 PM | Northwest Recreation Center | Paid

Bring your own basket for the hunt and be ready for a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Easter Eggstreme | Saturday, March 24 at 10:30 AM | Various Recreation Centers | Free

Enjoy an Easter egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny! Plus, a fun carnival for all.

Windmill Run and Scenic Brook Easter Egg Hunt | Saturday, March 24 from 2 PM – 4 PM | Windmill Run Park | Free

For every child participating in the hunt, bring a dozen filled plastic eggs. There will also be a fire truck at the event. The volunteers will hide the eggs, in designated areas, for each age group and a potluck community lunch will follow the hunt.

Delysia Chocolatier Easter Egg Decorating Competition for Kids | Sunday, March 25 from 12 PM – 5 PM | Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center | Free

There will be an Easter celebration at Delysia Culinary Center and a chocolate egg decorating competition. Each child will get a chocolate egg to decorate with chocolate markers to show off their artistic abilities, and there will be chocolates available for the grown-ups to try.

What a fun way to start the morning! Bring an Easter basket for all your eggs! You might find a surprise appearance by the Easter Bunny! Early birds get the donuts! Little bunnies hunt first!

Easter Eggstravaganza | Saturday, March 31 from 11 AM – 1 PM | Southwest Christian Church | Free

Have yourself an afternoon of fun at this annual Easter EGGstravangaza! Their egg hunts start at 11 am until noon. There will be bounce houses, a rock wall, crafts, face painting and a free hotdog lunch.

Children’s Easter Egg Hunt | Sunday, April 1 from 1pm onwards | Pioneer Farms | Paid

Grab your baskets! This historic Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Sunday, April 1, at Sprinkle Corner entry village. In addition to three egg hunts staggered by age from 1-3, there will be historical activities and crafts — and fun all afternoon. Egg hunts will start at 1 p.m. for ages 1-3 years; 2 p.m. for ages 4-7, and 3 p.m. to ages 8 and older. An Adult Easter Egg Hunt is being held the night before. $10 per person. Pay at the gate. No advance reservations necessary. The event will be held rain or shine.

Hunt eggs with delicious candy inside. Age-specific egg hunt groups will start promptly on time so don’t be late. Arrive early to locate your child’s hunt area. Come for the eggs and stay for the fun activities.

Egg-Stravaganza | Sunday, March 25 from 2 PM – 3 PM | Elizabeth Milburn Park | Free

Bring your basket to hunt for candy, prizes and goodies. Take your photo with the bunny until 2:45 pm (bring your own camera). Enjoy jumping in the inflatables and face painting. Egg hunt starts at 2:00 pm.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt and Movie in the Park | Thursday, March 29 from 7 PM – 9 PM | Old Settlers Park |Paid

The sun has set and the moon shines bright; Go on for an egg hunt in the night.

A treat-filled hunt ring waits for you; Eggs, Candy, Prizes and lots of fun too!

Bring your flashlight and a basket to fill; It’s so exciting you can’t sit still!

Easter Egg Hunt | March 17 – 31 from 10 AM – 5 PM | Sweet Eats Fruit Farm | Paid

Choose any Easter Egg Hunt in the last 3 weekends in March. They have hunts every hour from 10am – 5pm. You can purchase tickets in advance for a discount. Advance tickets are $6 and tickets “at the door” are $8.  Be sure to bring your Easter basket to scoop up all the candy-filled eggs!

Eggstravaganza | Saturday, March 24 from 9 AM – 10 AM | San Gabriel Park | Free

Hippity Hoppity, Easter’s on its way! There will be candy and toy-filled eggs to gather and a grand prize golden egg for each age division. Come early and stay late to visit with vendors and sponsors. They will have children’s activities and giveaways. Don’t forget your camera for a free photo with the Easter bunny!

Try a Farm Style Easter Egg Hunt! On Easter weekend, drive out to the beautiful and peaceful Healing with Horses Ranch for a novel Easter Egg Hunt. Search for hundreds of candy and toy filled Easter eggs, and compete in a duck race.

Easter Egg Hunt | Saturday, March 24 from 9 AM – 11 AM | Fritz Park | Free

Get ready for one of the ‘hoppiest’ times of the Spring with the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Hutto, at Fritz Park with bouncy castles, arts, crafts, petting zoo, and of course, the Easter Bunny. The ‘egg’stravagant Easter Egg Hunt will be split up by age groups. Fill your baskets with sweet candy and win prizes with the golden eggs!

Easter Egg Drop Extravaganza | Saturday, March 24th from 11 AM – 1 PM | Gregg-Clarke Park | Free

80,000 eggs will be dropped from a helicopter in a designated zone for the kids. There will be multiple drops for different age groups as well as a specific area just for toddlers and those with special needs. For each hunt the drop zone will be cleared, eggs will be dropped from the helicopter, and finally, the children will be released to collect the eggs. The helicopter will be showing up to drop the eggs starting at 11:30am, so be sure to come early! In addition to the Easter Egg Hunt, there will be fun activities for the entire family. There will be inflatables, carnival games, face painting, a photo booth, a live DJ, and the Easter bunny will even be available for pictures! Food vendors on site.
