5 Fabulous Fall Cocktails

I love fall and all things fall. I also love a good cocktail. So, I jumped at the chance to write a blog with some amazing fall cocktails. For your enjoyment, my husband and I also rated them on a scale of 1-5 stars with 5 being the highest. I highly recommend drinking one of these while watching Hocus Pocus and putting up some decorations.

  1. Fall in the East Side

My rating: 3 stars

Husband’s rating: 3 stars

First up, a mixed drink using a cider from Austin East Ciders. Find the recipe here. Tip: they use their own house-made pumpkin butter, so I used a bit of Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer as a substitute.

  1. Mulled Wine

My rating: 5 stars

Husband’s rating: 4 stars

A friend of mine told me Mulled wine was her favorite fall cocktail. After trying it for the first time, I can’t believe I never tried it before. I can safely say it is now one of my favorite drinks ever. I used this recipe.

  1. Hot cider with rum

My rating: 4 stars

Husband’s rating: 4 stars

I have no real recipe for this. It’s just something I put together back in college in Ohio. It’s super simple too. I simply heat a cup of cider in the microwave and add rum to taste. I usually also make this in a large batch on the stove for friends at Halloween. You can use either powdered cider, or a jug of cider.

  1. Apple Cider mimosa

My rating: 3 stars

Husband’s rating: 4 stars

Another easy no recipe drink. Just throw together some champagne and apple cider as you would a regular orange juice mimosa. This is a nice fall brunch drink.

  1. Pumpkin Spice White Russian

My rating: 5 stars

Husband’s rating: 5 stars

I love White Russians, and I love pumpkin spice. Throw them together and it’s basically my favorite drink on this list. The recipe calls for no milk, but I added some in because that’s how I like my White Russians. I also sprinkled some cinnamon on top (I might try nutmeg later).

Veronica DeSantos Ryan
Hi Austin mamas! I am Veronica DeSantos Ryan, a mama from Round Rock. My husband and I moved to the area in 2014 and love every minute of it. Our baby Oliver (May 2016) is the light of our life and we are enjoying every minute with him. After spending seven years teaching, I decided that I wanted to be a stay at home mom and teacher of life to my little boy. As a family we love running with Ollie in his jogger stroller, having picnics outside, playing with our two dogs and exploring all the the Austin area has to offer! I am also a performing princess for Lexi's Little Princesses Princess company, a teaching artist at The Georgetown Palace Theatre, and a member of the singing group The Vintage Dreams. I am an avid reader, piano player, singer, and occasional actress in community theater, and have recently been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles and More.
