Blue Genie Art Bazaar is a “fixture of the Austin holiday season.”  This is truly one of my favorite places to shop to support local and regional artists…from candles with Willie Nelson’s face on them to beautiful art to unique jewelry… this is a perfect last minute shopping stop.  They are open from Nov. 23 – Dec 24 from 10am to 10pm (except Dec. 24th closing at 6pm) located at 6100 Airport Blvd.  Free admission and parking!

A-Town is a fantastic boutique on Burnet Rd in North Central Austin.  They have local artists year round who each have their own section of the store.  It is quite a large space with women and men’s apparel, children’s items and home décor.  Such a great place to find different items or Austin related items plus you are basically supporting your neighbors!  Bonus, they offer a glass of wine and freshly baked cookies while you shop…the best!  Open Mon to Sat 10am to 8pm and Sun 10am to 6pm.  Located at 5502 Burnet Road.

Austin Gift Company states they are Austin’s one stop shop for local eccentricities, Texas-themed gifts, crafts, antiques and foodstuffs!  Their websites says “If you don’t need it then we probably have it!”    They are open year round and allow locals to have their own booth or section of the store.  They are very conveniently located on S. Lamar close to Target.  They are open Monday to Sunday 9am to 9pm and located at 4211 S. Lamar Blvd.

Toy Joy or Terra Toys are two great local toy stores in Austin that are fun to visit and shop.  They have awesome different toys as well as unique gadgets and nick knacks.

Lick or Amy’s or Central Market or Whole Foods Gift Cards are where it is at for last minute local gifts.  Think of that special someone who loves to cook and appreciates local fresh produce or just loves ice cream even on the cool winterish days and nights.  Or Antonelli’s Cheese Shop in Hyde Park.  What a perfect gift card for your friend hosting a New Year’s Party! All perfect for unique stocking stuffer items too!

Bookpeople has been around since 1970 and a crowd favorite book store for locals and famous artists.  It has a fabulous children section with very knowledgeable staff as well as a unique toy section.  Either stop by to pick up a gift card for that special someone in Austin or find that perfect bestseller to give as a gift.  Bookpeople is located at 603 N. Lamar and open hours are Mon to Sun 9am to 11pm.

Point of Origin is Lakeway’s one stop shop for your gift giving needs.  This great store opened its doors back in 1993 by a mother daughter duo.  They have clothing, jewelry, handbags and even home décor as well as fun gifts to give your family and friends.  Located at 2300 Lohmans Spur #100 and their hours our Mon to Sat 10am to 6pm.

Austin Antique Mall, Antique Marketplace, Uncommon Objects, Room Service Vintage, Find are all fantastic local stores that sell antiques and vintage items for that eclectic friend or family member.  Each place has their own unique way of finding those one of kind items.  Some of the stores rent out booths to locals who seek and find their merchandise and others might be the actual owner of the store.  There are even more around town similar so search out your neighborhood vintage/antique store.  Click on the links of each name and you can find out locations as well as hours of operation.

Thom’s Market is such an awesome shop with everything from local and artisanal food vendors to wines any wine connoissuer would enjoy, and a slew of Austin craft beers. It doesn’t just stop there — they also offer funky gifts, socks, and cards. Perfect one stop shop for stocking stuffers and gifts for anyone hosting a holiday party.

Take a stroll or a scooter and venture out to one of these local shops.  There are many more however I could not jot all of them down.  I promise these will not disappoint for your last minute unique gifts.  Leave the kids behind with a trusted adult and find something one of kind for that unique person in your life.
