Meredith’s Mission for Melanoma

There once was a girl who dreamed of a white wedding dress and a fancy pair of shoes. She dreamed of fresh flowers and a handsome man standing at the end of an aisle. She would dance the night away, giggle with her big sister, and hug her Mama. She had big dreams of making a house into a home, and hearing the sound of pitter padder of little feet.

But all those dreams came to a crashing halt TEN days after wearing that white dress and those fancy shoes. Time stood still when she found a lump. THE lump. The lump that changed her life and the lives of that man standing at the end of the aisle and the friends and family she hugged before driving off to her honeymoon.

There once was a girl who had big dreams of a future but instead, spent the next four months of her life in a doctor’s office.

Four months of surgery, and heartbreaking news, and pokes and pain. Four months, and she was gone.

That girl who said I do, had no idea the rest of her life meant only FOUR more months.

There isn’t a happily ever after to this tale, but, in dreaming big fashion, her family vowed to continuing dreaming big in her name. Dreaming of a day when families will not be separated by finding THE lump that will change life forever.

And so, Meredith’s Mission for Melanoma was created.

A mission that continues to dream big. A mission that promotes Melanoma awareness and raises funds to help cancer patients beat the odds of this terrible disease.

Meredith’s Mission for Melanoma promotes…

  • Melanoma awareness
  • The use of sunscreen and skin safe clothing which can reduce melanoma by 40%
  • Regular dermatologist skin checks
  • Awareness for the Melanoma blood test
  • The understanding mole changes
