Something my OB told me to never tell anyone: I labored for 52 hours… but only pushed for 30 minutes. By the end of that MARATHON, the fact that I had the strength… or maybe it was just a rush of adrenaline at that point? … to push hard enough to get my 9lb 5 oz baby out in a half hour, still astounds me. And so my “pelvic floor” became a “thing”.

But it might have been a little TOO quick, honestly. I did have a grade 2 tear, for which I needed multiple stitches. I healed fine, but had some of the “typical” postpartum issues: leakage with coughing/sneezing (initially), which got better and then only when I did jumping jacks or jump rope; soreness along the scar, which subsided, only to give way to severe tailbone pain with sitting.

That got so bad, actually, that I ended up seeing a pelvic floor PT for a while, about 10 months postpartum. She helped IMMENSELY with my pain and function, but unfortunately it became financially impossible for me to continue in PT. I figured I could continue to work on it on my own (which I did, and I do) as I AM a physical therapist, but I will say that had I never had the experience with my PT (shout out to Lady Bird Physical Therapy!), I would have had NO idea how to properly contract AND relax my pelvic floor. You see, everyone talks about “doing kegels” but honestly, it’s really easy to get them wrong.

That’s where the Perifit comes in.

Perifit is a Kegel exerciser that lets you control videos games with your pelvic floor. When you contract your pelvic floor, the bird goes up. When you relax it, the bird goes down. These games were designed by doctors to help properly strengthen the pelvic floor. It works so well that more than 1000 doctors already recommend Perifit to combat incontinence and prolapse and other pelvic floor disorders.

  • The Perifit is so accurate it can detect pelvic floor contraction as weak as 0.35 oz / 10 g.
  • you can return it up to 100 days after it was delivered.
  • We recommend to train at least 30 minutes a week. You can train only once a week or train 5 minutes a day, it’s up to you! The more you train, the faster you get results. We know how much this is complicated to make time for yourself but you won’t regret doing so, the results are amazing!
  • Perifit is an FDA registered device which is 100% safe to use. It produces only non-ionising Bluetooth Low Energy waves from its tail which always remains outside the body. Bluetooth devices are extremely low powered – approximately 10,000 times less than a regular smartphone.
  • It is very easy to get started and to use – a bit idiot-proof {thank goodness!}.
  • The game is entertaining enough and definitely does the job so I don’t have to “think” about whether I’m engaging properly during my contractions.
  • I LOVE that it is helping women to take control of their own bodies by strengthening their pelvic floors.
  • The Perifit is for every woman! Whether you have incontinence or need post-natal restrengthening or simply just want to improve your sex life, the Perifit is proven to help!
  • You can use the Perifit to PREVENT pelvic floor problems. They have designed a training program called “pelvic floor disorder prevention” for that very purpose.

More than 1 billion women have pelvic floor disorders like incontinence or prolapse. Kegel exercises strengthen your pelvic floor to combat incontinence and pelvic floor issues. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to work out the muscles you can’t see. Perifit cuts out all of the guesswork. Learn more about Perifit HERE!
