If Y’ALL follow me on Instagram, you know I have an affinity for green smoothies. I try to enjoy a smoothie almost daily, and it’s an amazingly energizing way to start the day!

As a certified health coach, one of the first things I suggest to most of my clients is to start their day with a fiber fueled, nutrient dense green smoothie. Smoothies are super easy to “eat”, perfectly portable for “on the go” #momlife, and a really effective way to consume your phytonutrients, fiber, vitamins, healthy fats and live enzymes! Plus smoothies have the ability to provide satiety {keep you full} and blood sugar balance when blitzed from the right ingredients. **AKA a lower proportion of fruit.

One of the many reasons I love smoothies for our kids is that I can easily disguise veggies, gut boosting protein, and healthy fat with natural sweetness.

Plus smoothies are an effective way to get a days worth of fruits & veggies in one mini meal! HALLELUJAH!

Delicious, creamy, green smoothies are one of my happy places, and trust me when I say I’ve sampled MANY smoothies around ATX over the years. Some much better than others. Here’s the rundown of The Best Smoothies in Austin, IMO.  Not just the local smoothie shop, but the actual smoothies we personally LOVE & order frequently.

1. Wundershowzen at Juice Land

First of all Juice Land is basically the OG of smoothies in Austin, and thankfully we are lucky enough to have locations all around the city. Even the airport!! The Wundershowzen Smoothie is a family favorite, and I can honestly say that all four of us enjoy it. Even my kids (ages 6 & 8) and believe me when I say that our daughter is a tough (sugar loving) critic.

*Tip If you are watching your sugar intake, you can substitute the banana for riced cauliflower and it’s still super yummy & creamy!

2. I Dream of Greenie at Juiceland

This is my #2 fav at Juice Land. The I Dream of Greenie has a super balanced flavor and its filled to the brim with greens and detoxifying herbs. The sweetness from banana and peach balances the veggie flavor, and the avocado provides a creamy base. Yum!

3. Super Matcha Green Smoothie at Kale Me Crazy

If you find yourself in the Four Points ATX area and you need an afternoon pick me up–skip the coffee drive through and head to Kale Me Crazy instead. The Super Matcha Smoothie provides balanced caffeine, the banana subtle sweetness and potassium, and the chia seeds, spinach and blueberries add nearly a days worth of fiber. *I opt to omit the agave when I place my order.

I also really love The Warrior Smoothie by Kale Me Crazy. Yummy & Chalked full of superfoods like Maca and Goji Berries that are great for regulating female hormones.

4. The SlackLiner Smoothie at The Soup Peddler

The SlackLiner is one of my favorite smoothie combinations when I need restoration and recovery.  Cherries & banana are wonderful for muscle recovery, and Himalayan Pink salt alleviates dehydration. It’s also made with hemp milk and hemp protein; a great, protein rich option for all the plant based Mama’s!

The Soup Peddler has SIX Austin locations, so hopefully you find yourself ordering yourself this smoothie soon! Follow their Instagram page for frequent discounts!!! YES!
I also really love the rainbow of flavors in Paisley Park! The purple-ish blue hue is easy on the eyes as well.

5. Clarity 13 at The Well

Y’all I’ve saved the best for last! The Well is what smoothie dreams and nutrient dense meals are made of!! We tend to treat ourselves to a trip to The Well after a lap around Lady Bird Lake and it’s such an amazing place to savor a meal. The food is out of this world delicious, and the smoothies are so well balanced and blended with adaptogens and organic house made nut milk. My personal favorite is The Clarity 13–shown above with the UH-MMMAZING egg, radish & herby breakfast tacos. So good Y’ALL!

The Best Smoothies are Made at Home

We LOVE making our own smoothies at home. It’s fun, allows for creativity, convenient and a super simple habit to implement once you set yourself up with the necessary ingredients.
I’m sharing our family favorite Mint Chip Smoothie below. It has greens, magnesium, potassium, fiber, flavonoids, healthy fat, Omegas and protein. The recipe below makes two servings. I Hope you enjoy!!
