Father’s Day is quickly approaching, and if you’re anything like me, I love this day WAY more than Mother’s Day. The cards and flowers are wonderful, but I just I love gifting, surprising, treating and honoring my husband. Whoever you are celebrating on this special day, I hope this list provides you some fun things to do in good ol’ Dripping Springs.

If you head west on 290 from Austin, you will enter the booming and growing town of Dripping Springs. Home to lots of breweries, wineries and distilleries. Whether you are looking for an adult beverage or not, these hidden gems are sure to provide a good time for the entire family.

Hamilton Pool Vineyards:

One of the most beautiful properties in the area. I encourage you to head out to the tasting room at Hamilton Pool Vineyards. Free admission from 2:00pm-5:00pm with a live performance by Whiskey and Wine. Be sure to check out their menu consisting of farm fresh ingredients, (you can’t go wrong with the cheese board and a glass of Gold Buckle)

Dripping Springs Distilling:

With picnic tables and ample seating nestled under beautiful oak trees, you can enjoy yourself while getting some shade from the Texas Sun. A personal favorite for our family, because it is a winner with all ages. A playground that is suitable for younger kiddos, and plenty of open space to run around. Live music from 1:00pm-4:00pm from local singer and song writer; Ryan DeSiato.

Jester King Brewery:

Always a fan favorite, but especially the dads on Father’s Day. Come on out for the annual Corn Hole Tournament from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Applications must consist of teams of two, and it is highly encouraged to sign up early. There will be a burger pop up trailer, as well as Stanley’s Pizza, which never disappoints. Looking to extend your stay? Book a cabin or room at the Jester King Inn in which there is direct access through a private gate to the property.

Route 12 Filling Station:

Who doesn’t love a restaurant with an amazing laid back environment, with off the charts food? Everything on the menu is tasty, and the drinks and splash pad for the kids is an extra bonus. A one stop shop for family fun!

Whatever is in store for you and your family this Father’s Day, we wish you a day full of memories and laughter. Happy Father’s Day!

Chelsea Richardson
Chelsea is a born and raised Texas girl, originally from the Dallas area but has been living the Austin life for 10 years with her husband Evan. Former Division 1 volleyball player and Human Resource Coordinator that has traded the knee pads and timesheets in for all the necessities of being a stay at home mom. Chelsea is a mom to Ryver (2015), Nova (2018), Nixon (2020), one heavenly angel Jones (2017), and 2 very silly Golden Retrievers; Rainey and Renly. A true creature of habit, failing protectionist, and sourdough bread maker (the one good thing to come from Covid Quarantine) Her days start with lots of coffee, prayer, and usually end with a peloton workout and a glass of wine. However, somewhere in the middle she can be found loving, playing, taxing around, and doing everything she can to point her kids to the love of Jesus. Chelsea resides in Dripping Springs, Texas where they are in the process of building their forever home. You can keep up with Chelsea and her favorite people on IG (@ryver_runs_wild)
