Skateboarding has been around for the last 70 years. Yep, they were first made in the 1950s and now skateboarding is an actual competitive sport. My kids are nowhere near or even in the vicinity to skateboarding veterans however my son loves to try tricks on his Razor scooter (does that count?) These are the best skate parks in Austin to try out awesome ramps, bowls and street elements as well as space to spectate! That is where I will be!
Mabel David District Park | 3427 Parker Lane, Austin TX
Famed as Austin’s first skate park built in 2005 and is a 12,000 square feet. It is located close to Ben White and I-35 in a quiet park with a small pond as well. There is a place for onlookers as well. This skate park is known to be more of a technical park geared toward advance users.
House Skate Park | 1301 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin TX
The address shows as different then the one below however I am unclear so I am adding both. This skate park is dope! Seriously. It is huge and has tons of different features as well as street elements and fun shade areas for spectators.
Heath Eiland and Morgan Moss BMX Skate Park | 1213 Shoal Creek Blvd. Austin TX
This skate park is another official one in Austin that opened in 2011. Boasting 30,000 square feet with a skate bowl, large plaza with streetscape elements and shade structures as well as unisex restrooms. It is located off Shoal Creek between 15th St and 12th St. in the West End. Extremely centrally located so patrons of all areas of Austin can enjoy.
This park is for bikers and skaters. Some people even bring their littles to learn to ride around the areas. It was designed with all skill levels in mind.
Patterson Neighborhood Park | 4200 Brookview Rd, Austin TX
Great neighborhood park in East Austin with so much activity according to their website. They seem to have constant events which is so fun surround the community. The skate park part of it is only a concrete mini-ramp at the east edge, near Airport Blvd. However, still ready for tons of skateboard fun!
Pflugerville Skatepark @ North East Metropolitan Park | 15500 Sun Light Near Way
Wow, what a park! If you can check this Travis County park in Pflugerville then please do. They have a nationally ranked BMX Racetrack. Super cool one of a kind track! And they have a pretty awesome skate park that is one of the largest in Texas. This park has so many wonderful areas to play!
Skate Spot at Bohls Park in Pflugerville | 200 Immanuel Rd, Pflugerville TX
Shade! This is a shaded skate park that is super cook to try our your new spins and turns, etc per the website. It notes they do have rules so pay special attention to them. Helmets, elbow pads, knee pads and other protective clothing highly recommended.
Leander Lakewood Skatepark | 2040 Artesian Springs Crossing, Leander TX
Beautiful park located near Chrystal Springs in Leander. They have a splash pad, playground, dog park, fishing pier AND a skate park, etc. Great scenery with the lake and kayaking, etc. The skate park area is built more like a city scape, sidewalk paths with steps and skate bowls/ramps. Very cool!
Brushy Creek Skate Park in Cedar Park| 2310 Brushy Creek Road, Cedar Park TX
Located in the Brushy Creek Sports Park including mini and large bowl, modern street course as well as shade and landscaping. This park is perfectly located in the Brushy Creek Park near baseball/softball fields and soccer/football fields as well as 9 hold-disc golf course! Can’t go wrong with this park!
Shaylah Dame Skate Park in Round Rock | 1600 Gattis School, Round Rock TX
With 14,000 square feet of bowl and street component per the park website. They do have rules so be sure to check them out in the above link. The park is beautiful and has so much space in the skate park area. Tons of concrete pace and hand rails and stairs to practice all kinds of tricks.
Lakeway Skate Park | 3107 Lakeway Boulevard, Lakeway TX
Lakeway has a skate park and it is super sleek with beautiful blue shade tents. It is at the corner of The Hills and next to the swim center. It has bowl and street elements in the 9,000 square foot complex. Only skateboards and in-line skate allowed. No bikes. Nearby there are sand volleyball courts, basketball courts and children’s rock climbing wall.
Jackson Tyler Norris Memorial Skatepark in Buda | 480 S. Loop 4, Buda TX
The park is named after a teenager skateboarder from Buda who died after being struck by a vehicle. What a horrific event to spawn a much needed skatepark. This park is 10,000 square feet of bowl and street elements including railings and stairs.
