Known for their impossibly cute Hallmark Movie vibes, Round Rock and Georgetown have a lot more to offer than just being adorbs. So much to do in so little time, but if you’re kickin’ it in the Northern ‘burbs this Spring break, here are some places to check out!

Round Rock

Round Rock Public Library- The brand new building is now open and is a game changer! There are outdoor spaces on each floor and dedicated children’s story time rooms, early learning areas, space for activities and crafts, space for collaboration and flexible spaces for programs and collections. A must-visit!

Old Settlers Park- The park of all parks in Round Rock! The park’s 640 acres has courses for disc golf, cricket, 20-field baseball complex, 5-field softball complex, soccer facilities, and SEVEN different playgrounds. It’s super pretty if you just want to take a stroll, too!

Play for all Abilities Park- a safe, fun place to play and develop new skills for children of all abilities. There are tons of different playscapes to cater to any vibe and the sweetest mini town and race track. PRO TIP: do not forget a bike/scooter/anything with wheels–your kids will go NUTS when they see the amazing track.

Slapbox Pizza– Grab a GIANT slice and head outside to sit on charming Main Street. The kids love it–it’s also a great date night spot–and I will never say no when they ask to have pizza!

3 Star Candy Shop- After dinner, stop by this vintage dream of a candy shop. They have all the old faves I remember growing up and it’s cool to see my littles face light up the way mine used to (ok, still does) If a scoop of nostalgia isn’t enough, they have tons of ice cream flavors to choose from.

Uncle Bucks Fishbowl and Grill—Cannonball into an absurd bowling experience. My 4 year old told me “regular bowling” was boring. He had a blast here! It’s actually inside Bass Pros Shop, which is a fun trip for the kiddos in itself.

Monster Mini Golf- Perfect if the weather isn’t exactly Spring Break worthy. Super cool and spooky, you can mini golf your way around glowing monsters. They also have an arcade, laser tag and a laser maze.

Kalahari Resorts- Ok this is the BIG one. Actually, like THE BIGGEST. The LARGEST indoor water park…ever? Leave no stone unturned and little room for *bored* kiddos because they have it all–even a spa to treat yourself for surviving another Spring Break. Waterpark, indoor amusement park and arcade, bowling, restaurants, shops, escape rooms and more! There’s totally enough to do to justify booking a room and calling it a staycation.

Georgetown

Berry Springs Park and Preserve- Bank a few hours of family fun in the fresh air on these gorgeous grounds. With 300 acres of land, there’s plenty of room for camping, hiking and fishing. We love taking a nature walk on their 2.5 miles of trails, then setting up for a picnic at the playground. Oh, don’t forget to visit the donkeys!

The Square- Ok, it seriously looks like it belongs in a movie (HBO is shooting here!) This beautiful townsquare has museums, wineries, galleries, antique shops and more. Pop in one of the wineries and take your drink to go (oh yeah, I said what I said) and take a stroll around The Square.

All Things Kids- Right on Main Street in Georgetown, this sweet store is a must-go! They have tons of NON-SCREEN toys to spark imaginative play. You can’t leave without a scoop or two of ice cream and some old fashioned candy.

Garey Park- This place rules. Garey Park has trails, a Play Ranch, splash pad, and so much more. There’s an awesome equestrian area for your kiddos to catch a glimpse of horses, as well as a full wildlife viewing area.  There is an admission fee, but you’ll get a genuine day trip out of it.

Sweet Eats Fruit Farm- This is a family fave all year long. Strawberries will be ready to pick by the end of the month! Sweet Eats is an Adventure Farm and Petting Zoo with the cutest farm animals. Pony rides, jump pads, and ziplines will keep the kids busy while you grab some food and drinks from one of their many food trucks on the property.

Barking Armadillo- Who doesn’t love a family-friendly brewery? They have board games, cards, arcades, and yard games to keep the kiddos entertained while you check out the taproom brews. There’s a rotating schedule of food trucks and the spring break lineup looks tasty!
