There is no shortage of tasty treats in Austin but one thing is for sure, gourmet donuts are not going anywhere. In fact, new donut hot spots continue to hit the map and we’re not mad about it! We’ve compiled a NEW list of the latest and greatest to hit the scene. And if you’re looking for more, check out our previous list of tried and true legendary donut shops that have withstood the test of time.

The Salty | 2000 S Congress Ave

The sign says it all – Donuts, Coffee, Vibes. The Salty is just that, a vibe! Ranked as one of the top artisanal donut spots in the country by numerous national networks, this place will exceed all of your wildest donut dreams. They pride themselves on using only the best ingredients and it shows; offering a selection of classic delights as well as a rotation of unique seasonal specialties, all slightly crunchy with a whole lot of softness on the inside. A full crafted coffee menu plus a spacious and chic dining space makes this a perfect spot to gather with family and friends or get some work done. Situated on the world famous South Congress Ave makes for a great opportunity to walk off those cals!

Master’s Donuts| 6100 E. Riverside Dr

We love Master’s because they’re one of the few shops that offer custom designs and lettering, perfect for your upcoming event or celebration. They make the freshest classic flavors like glazed, chocolate, sprinkles, blueberry, sugar twists and jelly filled while also offering warm muffins, danishes, kolaches, and breakfast sandwiches.

OMG Squee!| 4607 Bolm Rd.

100% gluten free, Asian American desserts. We simply could NOT do a list of Austin Donuts without including these insta-famous, drool-worthy mochi donuts. These butter mochi cake donuts are made with coconut milk and caramel brown butter. Flavors rotate every 2 weeks. Literally the cutest donuts you’ll ever meet!

Lola’s Donuts| 2406 Manor Road Ste B

Even if donuts aren’t your thing, you have to visit Lola’s Donuts for the ‘gram (Instagram, I mean). Between the artfully curated donuts and the beautiful flower wall at the ordering window, the experience is post-worthy. Enjoy a variety of gourmet, filled, vegan, gluten free, classics, and crullers. There’s even a pooch-friendly donut for your 4-legged friends. Keep in mind that their process includes an “enriched” Brioche dough so these delightful treats take over 48 hours to make and being that they’re only open Friday-Sunday, it’s best to plan accordingly or order in advance. Trust me, it’s worth it.

Bougie’s Donuts & Coffee| 5400 Brodie Lane, Suite 930

Bougie’s is a favorite for an elevated donut without all the fluff. Unique and fun flavors like lemon lavender and chocolate bacon couple a gourmet experience with your more traditional and dense dough. Seasonal offerings transfer to the full service coffee and espresso bar. Butterbeer latte with a strawberry homer? Sign us up!

Donut Taco Palace I| 5446 W US Hwy 290 Service Rd

With a name like this, you can’t go wrong. What more do you need in one breakfast location? Grab your classic donut flavors here and enjoy childhood favorite cereal toppings all at a fraction of the cost as some other spots on the list. They also offer custom orders including designs, letters, and flavors.

Round Rock Donuts | 106 W Liberty Ave

The bigger the better, right? World famous since 1926, RR donuts are HUGE and packed with big flavor. Unlike baking powder donuts, this yeast donut cannot be machine-made; it must be hand-rolled, cut, fried and iced. On busy days now, as in the past, the bakery turns out over 500 dozen of these popular originals.
