It was only five years ago when I moved to Texas from the Midwest. However, during my first summer in Austin, I was convinced that I accidentally moved to the surface of the sun. It took time to adapt and learn the tricks of beating the heat – i.e. sun shades for windshields or covers for leather car seats, portable fans with misters, and big umbrellas at outdoor events. With a large percentage of days breaking 100 degrees, it’s no secret that this town has a need for cooling off and Austin doesn’t disappoint with options (10 Local Spots To Beat The Heat). Here is a great list for indoor and outdoor places to Cool Off This Summer in ATX.
