It’s summer and it’s hot, so planning a trip to a water park is a MUST! While there are plenty waterparks to choose from in and around Austin, we are BIG Typhoon Texas fans.
Between the lazy river, splash pad and water slides – there is something for everyone at Typhoon Texas.
Typhoon Texas is located in Pflugerville, TX. You can check out their hours and updates HERE.
When heading to Typhoon Texas make sure to follow these tips for the ultimate fun.
Arrive early. The lines get longer after lunch. Ticket holders can exit and re-enter the waterpark. Just make sure to get your hand will be stamped on the way out–this will allow you to enter and exit the park all day long.
Speaking of LUNCH– There are plenty of stands to grab food. From snacks, to burgers, to pizza, they have it all–including gluten free options! If you pack your own lunch, you can exit the park and have a car picnic (don’t forget to grab your re-entry stamp!) then head back in for more fun.
Guest who suffer from food sensitives or life-threatening allergies may bring food into the park ONLY if their dietary restrictions do not allow the consumption of the menu options available. Food must be limited to the individual with the allergy and may not exceed: a 12”x12”x12” bag, and must be a soft-sided cooler of that size.
There is PLENTY of FREE parking!
Stay hydrated. Each guest can bring a factory 2 sealed water bottles and/or empty refillable water bottle. Take advantage of this! PLUS, plan to grab the refillable soda cup and snag free refills all day. Adult beverages are also available.
Find a homebase. If you get there early enough you can snag a picnic table or lounge chair around the park. These are free and first-come, first-serve. Keep valuables in a locker or with you in a waterproof pouch and you should be golden!
If you’d like to upgrade your homebase, rent a cabana to add more relaxation, a touch of luxury, and a bit of privacy. Cabanas reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. With a cabana, you have a waitstaff, cooler, refrigerator and a safe to keep your stuff.
Protip – choose a cabana or picnic table by the kids splash area. This is my favorite, as it’s centralized in the park, as well as, you can stay under the shade while still keeping an eagle eye on your kiddos.
If you have a BLAST (which I’m sure you will) and want to come back, consider upgrading your ticket to a season pass. You can only upgrade the same day the daily admissions ticket is used. You will just pay the difference of the daily ticket and the season pass price. Proof of purchase must be presented to be able to make the upgrade. Totally worth it!
Now head out for a splashing good time.
