When Salt Lick BBQ started in 1967, Central Texas was a sleepy area with rolling hills, wide open spaces and people who wanted to live outside of busy cities. Salt Lick roots run back deep into Mississippi by the now owner’s great-grandmother, Bettie. Read their incredible history here.

Salt Lick prides itself on being a place families big and small can come enjoy. They offer a family style ALL YOU CAN EAT option where kids under 3 are FREE and there is a special discount for kiddos ages 4-10. There is quite a variety on the menu from juicy brisket, to their mouthwatering ribs (pork, beef and bison!), moist turkey, delicious chicken, pulled pork, giant sandwiches with your favorite meat, sides you certainly don’t want to skip out on like potato salad, coleslaw and beans. You’ll find flavors like blackberry and peach (yes you can get both!). But be sure to try the chocolate pecan pie and all the homemade desserts are better with a scoop of ice cream.

Salt Lick commits to supporting the community through the charity, Friends of the Children where they aim to break the cycle of generational poverty.
