5th Annual Latch-On Event

Central Texas Breastfeeding Coalition and SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley are thrilled to announce their 5th Annual Latch-On Event on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley (3200 Jones Rd).
The Latch-On Event is a community-driven initiative with the primary goal of enhancing the health and safety of mothers, babies, and families through educational efforts and advocacy in a warm and inclusive environment. We cordially invite everyone in the community to join us in this free celebration of support and empowerment.
At 10 AM, participants are welcome to engage in public breastfeeding at the farmers’ market. This inclusive atmosphere aims to foster an environment where everyone feels comfortable and encouraged to participate without any judgment.
Eligible mothers and children can take advantage of the WIC Voucher Program, a seasonal, supplemental nutrition benefit initiative designed to improve the health outcomes of young children (1-5 years old) and mothers (pregnant, post-partum, or breastfeeding). The program provides $30 worth of additional WIC Vouchers that can be exclusively spent on fresh fruits and vegetables. Excitingly, through the Double Up Food Bucks Texas program, WIC Vouchers will be matched $1 for $1, resulting in a total of $60 to spend on locally sourced produce.
