Kid Friendly, OPEN STUDIO at Julie Ahmad Contemporary Art Gallery

Join us for an afternoon at the Gallery where incredible local Austin female artists’ + their work are amplified! Julie Ahmad Contemporary Art Gallery has 5 fantastic featured female artists whose work will be on display and will be available for purchase during this event as well as online here. The doors are open to the public from 11am-2pm on Sunday, October 8th for Austin Locals to come inside and enjoy vibrant, unique original art that makes this city so wonderful!
We will have a coloring table available for the kiddos to color illustrations created by ATX’s very own @Savannalore for the littles, while the big kids learn more about the process and see what they themselves can achieve if they put their mind to it!. Grown-ups can shop and see what their local Female Artists are creating!
Discover a wide array of artistic styles and mediums from our talented local female artists: Julie Ahmad, Donna Schwandt, Lisa Zinna & Charlotte Schembri. There is artwork available at all price points; check out the Art Under $300 page on the Gallery’s website to snag before they sell out!
GALLERY MISSION: We strive to empower women in every avenue of life. With an understanding that focused action has a stronger impact on change, we have chosen to tackle the substantial disproportionate Gallery representation of male artists compared to female artists.
A staggering statistic from the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., states “that although Women obtain 70% of the Bachelors of Fine Arts Degrees at University, only 13.7% of Female Artists are receiving living artist gallery + museum representation.”
We are on ambitiously challenging this stat by spreading awareness and investing in women & female-identifying artists and their careers! The Gallery proudly represents + supports local talent in ATX and beyond.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast, collector, or just curious about the Gallery, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
