The National Museum of the Pacific War (NMPW), located in Fredericksburg, Texas, recently launched a new Youtube series called Nimitz Minitz which brings the museum’s mission online via educational exploration for youth. Nimitz Minitz are short, three to seven minute videos geared for elementary and middle school students posted on the museum’s YouTube channel every Tuesday and Thursday.
The first episode examines the F4U Corsair airplane, how it flies and the significance of the plane’s design to the success of its missions. Episode two focuses on the personal gear that was issued to a new recruit when someone entered the military for combat in World War II.
Amid its temporary closure to visitors, the museum has created a regular schedule to post new digital content in addition to existing web-based programs. For more information, visit pacificwarmuseum.org/discover/distance-learning/.
