Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Austin Wildlife Rescue for an interactive wilderness presentation, tortoise meet and greet, and a wilderness walk!
Join The Conservancy and Austin Wildlife Rescue at the Tudor Cottage for a special family friendly presentation on native Texas Wildlife and what we can do to help these beloved creatures. Staff and rehabilitators from Austin Wildlife Rescue will be joined by special animal ambassador Tortellini – a Texas Tortoise!
Please note that although we love all creatures at Pease Park, dogs are not allowed at this event for the safety and wellbeing of the special animal ambassador.
About Austin Wildlife Rescue: Austin Wildlife Rescue rehabilitates and releases orphaned, injured, and sick wild animals and educates the public to coexist with wildlife. Austin Wildlife Rescue serves the citizens and wildlife of Central Texas by providing direct assistance to the public concerning questions, problems, and conflicts with native wildlife. Austin Wildlife Rescue accomplishes this mission by: training staff to operate a telephone hotline in order to assist with wildlife inquiries from the public; supporting qualified rehabilitators to provide quality care to orphaned and injured wildlife until they can be returned to their native habitat; and providing educational programs designed to eliminate or mitigate conflicts between humans and wildlife.
