Celebrations

Austin’s New Year

December 31st

Bring in the New Year with a free, fun and family-friendly celebration. Austin’s New Year will transform Vic Mathias Shores into a wonderland of music, art, special performances and of course, Austin’s legendary food favorites.  The 2019 event will include three stages, food trucks, kid’s activities, and multiple art installations.


Ring in the New Year at the Pines

December 31st

Join us as we say goodbye to 2019 and hello to 2020! Dine with us at our NYE buffet fit for a king in our ballroom with options galore and live music.

Buddy the Elf Wreath Making Party

December 3rd

Come join us and Letterly Yours Design to create your very own Buddy the Elf wreath to take home that evening!
Tickets include all the supplies needed, instruction, crafting time and a holiday whoopie pie to make sure you are getting all four of your food groups, of course. We will have Elf playing along with plenty of candy-candy canes- candy corn and syrup (no, really)!

Candy Cane Crawl

December 13th

Let’s get festive!  Mark your calendar for Friday, Dec. 13th from 6-7:30pm for the Candy Cane Crawl on Aldrich Street!

This free, holiday event will feature:
-Caroling from the Mueller Community Singers
-Hot chocolate
-Holiday photos opportunities
-Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt!

The hunt will be begin at 7pm. and end at 7:15pm and flashlights will be provided.
There will be prizes for the person that finds the most candy canes and for the three people that find the candy-filled candy canes. Holiday costumes are encouraged!


Christmas Open House

Join for holiday cheer at our Christmas Open House in our Southwest Austin Branch Location.  We can’t wait to celebrate with you.


Duchman Family Winery Holiday Wine Dinner

December 7th

You are cordially invited to share the evening with Drs. Stan and Lisa Duchman, as well as winemakers Dave Reilly and Miles Elsey.

Join us as we celebrate this holiday season!

Chef Don Dastrup will be preparing the following 5-course meal to be paired with our favorite Duchman wines from the year.


Gingerbread House Decorating Party at Eberly

December 15th

Spend an evening with your friends, family or a special holiday date decorating a festive gingerbread house.

Eberly is hosting its first ever gingerbread decorating class on December 15th from 6pm to 9pm. Guests will receive their own gingerbread house and they will be fully supplied with candies, icing, and sweet treats. Enjoy small bites and signature cocktails composed by Eberly under the stars in the gorgeous Study. Guest chefs will join Eberly’s talented pastry team to collaborate with attendees on their stunning holiday centerpieces.

Ticket includes decorating supplies, a signature holiday cocktail, hors d’ouevres, assorted small pastry bites, and the fully assembled gingerbread house. Each house will be packaged at the end of the event for guests to take home and enjoy their candy coated masterpiece.

Holiday Wine Walk

December 12th

Join us for the Hill Country Galleria’s Wine Walk, the 2nd Thursday of every month from 5-9pm. This is a unique wine and social gathering experience. Get to know the eclectic mix of businesses in the Galleria while discovering great wines from all over the world. This event is open to everyone, so bring your friends, family, groups, or date for a fun way to spend a Thursday evening.

 


Twisted Christmas

December 6th-7th, 13th-14th, 20th-21st

A unique event that combines the traditional, quirky, and wicked sides of Christmas for a magical experience like no other! You’ll find Christmas movies, holiday treats and hot beverages, tens of thousands of lights throughout 20 acres, live Christmas music, some of your favorite holiday characters, 3 Haunted Attractions based on darker Christmas traditions from around the world and much more!


Holiday Shopping

A Christmas Affair

November 21st – November 24th

Now in its 44th year, A Christmas Affair is a five-day holiday market that hosts over 200 retail merchants from across the country and attracts over 25,000 patrons. This year’s theme, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”, celebrates Christmas spent with loved ones and captures the anticipation of The Junior League of Austin’s first Christmas in its new home, The Community Impact Center. The 2019 A Christmas Affair dates are November 20-24th at Palmer Events Center.

Blue Genie Art Bazaar

November 22nd – December 24th 

We have thousands of original works ranging from serious art to fun, kitschy items. Shopping at the Bazaar is a great way to buy holiday gifts in a hassle-free environment, all while supporting local artists.

All items at the Bazaar are handmade by local and regional artists that are selected through a rigorous jury process. The Bazaar features the work of more than 200 artists offering a wide variety of imaginative and beautiful gifts. You can expect to find paintings, photography, prints, sculptures, jewelry, clothing, accessories, glassworks, ceramics, and more gifts you can’t find anywhere else.


Armadillo Christmas Bazaar

December 13th – 24th

The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar is a 12 day fine art, shopping destination featuring national and local award-winning artists, live music, and two full bars in a festive, lively atmosphere.


Allies Market

December 8th

The Allies Market is a free event for patrons to shop responsibly this holiday season, while supporting local, socially conscious artisans and makers.

The market features fair trade, direct trade, and social enterprise merchants who use their businesses to promote employment and well-being for people in Austin and around the world. This fun, family event will have something for everyone on your list with art, jewelry, clothing, purses/bags, toys, leather goods, coffee, prints and stationary, housewares, and much more!


Cherrywood Art Fair

December 7th – 8th

Chula League’s Cherrywood Art Fair is an art filled two-day event showcasing local artists, live music, kids activities and great food in a free, family-friendly environment. Since its 2002 inception, the Fair has served as a destination for discerning holiday shoppers seeking unique, hand-crafted items from Texas artists and makers.


15th Annual Christmas on Mercer

December 7th

Join us on historical Mercer Street on Saturday, December 1 from 10am – 5pm for a special holiday festival with arts and crafts booths, children’s games and activities, live family entertainment, local food vendors, and of course, SANTA!


German-Texan Annual Christmas Market

December 7th

Come for the Food and Entertainment. Stay for a unique shopping experience. We will have authentic German, handcrafted Christmas ornaments, nutcrackers, Schwiebogen, smokers and decor. Enjoy some Gluehwein (hot spiced wine), Christmas Stollen made by The New World Bakeryand gingerbread hearts made by Uwe’s Bakery.Up for some German cookies? Try out Silke’s German Gourmet Cookies.


Holiday Village

November 23rd thru December 24th

The Hill Country Galleria has transformed the Central Plaza into a Hill Country Holiday Village open to the public November 23rd thru December 24th. Located within one of the most beautiful places for holiday shopping, visitors will lose themselves in decorated walkways featuring local artisan vendors of art, jewelry, home goods, and holiday fare. Experience the winding walkways filled with holiday cheer and an abundance of family photo opts.

In addition to the Hill Country Galleria’s 100 shops & restaurants, the Hill Country Holiday Village is a must-visit holiday destination with unique gifts, holiday performances, Santa’s Workshop, glittering holiday lights, and an abundance of family fun. Admission is free.


Love Child’s Holiday Mini Market

December 8th

Austin’s Love Child Mag is proud to announce it’s 2nd annual holiday pop-up shop (4th market total), Mini Market. With hopes to take our digital Love Child community into a real-life community, we launched Mini Market, a one day, pop up shop, dedicated to mamas and their minis in the spring of 2018. We bring the convenience of shopping small brands to the mama masses. Mini Market is free and open to the public. We ask all attendees rsvp via eventbrite page.
