Pride Month honors the identity and inclusion of LGBTQ+ people. Although Austin has its official celebration later in August, there are plenty of ways to celebrate with the whole family all June. From storytimes, to picnics and dance parties…check out these Family-Friendly Pride Events in Austin and spread the love!

All Ages Storytime: Pride Edition | June 15 | 10:30-11 | Hampton Branch at Oak Hill

Storytime for children aged 5 and under and their parents, featuring stories, songs, fingerplays, rhymes, and crafts or other extension activities. Program length can vary.

All ages welcome

Pride Storytime! | June 15 | 12:30-1 | Southeast Branch

Join us for a special storytime to celebrate Pride Month with music, dance, and stories! This program is recommended for children 0-7 years old.

Pride Silent Disco | June 15 | 7-9 pm | Spicewood Springs Branch, Austin Public Library

13+. Dance with pride at the library! Three DJs from our friends at Queer Vinyl Collective will bring their turntables and sweet tunes to battle for your attention. The library will provide the wireless, noise-cancelling headsets.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided while supplies last.

This after-hours event is for ages 13 years and older.

Dripping Springs Pride | June 22 | Dripping Springs Ranch Park

Celebrate the 4th annual Pride of Dripping Springs celebration–10am-3pm for a day of family-friendly fun, including great drinks, food, music, and live entertainment

Pride Celebration | June 28 | 7-10pm | Central Library

Join us at the Central Library for a special night featuring tarot readings, adorable animals from Tiny Tails, hobby workshops, queer films and more!

Recommended for ages 18 and up

All Ages Saturday Storytime: PRIDE! | June 29 | 11am | University Hills Branch

Read, dance, sing, and play! Storytime for children aged 5 and under and their parents, featuring stories, songs, fingerplays, rhymes, and crafts or other extension activities. Program length can vary. All ages welcome

Pride Picnic 2024 | June 29 | 10-2pm | Pease Park

Kid-friendly activities include tie-dying, drag n’ draw and a chance to make friendship bracelets.

Taylor Pride Music & Art Festival | June 29th | 4-9pm | Downtown Taylor Heritage Square

Shopping,, live entertainment, activities and food and drink. Open to all ages. Admission is free and any donations made to the organization go directly to the festival and community outreach.

Ali Tierney
