The Wildflower Center will soon be transformed into the prehistoric supercontinent of Pangea! Travel back in time to each of the world’s continents and meet 11 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs. From their humble beginnings 238 million years ago through their reign that lasted 172 million years, you’ll follow the journey of these fascinating creatures as you stroll through our gardens and discover what the world was like in the Age of Reptiles.

The Woodland Fairie Trail | Thru July 13 | Zilker Botanical Garden

Calling all magical beings! Explore 75 faerie homes built by the community on display for a short time this Summer. Families, school groups, and individuals within the community build tiny homes in preparation for the arrival of these fae folk. Each home is built with natural materials that will withstand the summer heat and be on display off the Oak Grove, along the winding Woodland Faerie Trail throughout the season. We ask that visitors do not disturb these homes in order to provide a safe and respectful atmosphere for the faeries.

Live on the Lawn | 6-8 pm | Hill Country Galleria

Come and rock out to live music on the Central Plaza Lawn at Hill Country Galleria! Bring your friends, family, and a blanket to lounge on the lawn as you enjoy all of your favorite local musicians. Don’t forget to grab a bite at one of Hill Country Galleria’s amazing restaurants! This event is free admission, family-friendly, and weather permitting.

Juneteenth Central Texas Sat, 10AM – 9PM Rosewood Neighborhood Park, 2300 Rosewood Ave Austin, TX 

Austin, the capital of Texas, had its first official Juneteenth celebration in 1867. Historical records show that the Freedmen’s Bureau helped to organize a parade, a picnic, and a festival to commemorate their freedom. They met at the Comal Street Bridge, the only bridge that crossed the Colorado River then, and marched to the Capitol grounds. There, they sang songs, listened to speeches, played games, and had food and drinks. The event was successful and drew a large crowd of both Black and white residents.

Join us for a special storytime to celebrate Pride Month with music, dance, and stories! This program is recommended for children 0-7 years old.

Pride Silent Disco | June 15 | 7-9 pm | Spicewood Springs Branch, Austin Public Library

13+. Dance with pride at the library! Three DJs from our friends at Queer Vinyl Collective will bring their turntables and sweet tunes to battle for your attention. The library will provide the wireless, noise-cancelling headsets.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided while supplies last.

This after-hours event is for ages 13 years and older.

Black Makers Market: Juneteenth Celebration Sat, 12 – 6PM African American Cultural and Heritage Facility, 912 E 11th St Austin, TX 

Celebrate Juneteenth in style at the African American Cultural Heritage Facility on June 15th! We’re bringing 40+ vendors, food trucks, Kids Corner delights, giveaways, and top DJs together for a day filled with joy and unity. Open to all who want to commemorate this historic day with us!

Juneteenth Block Party 5pm – 9pm 601 S Bagdad Rd Leander, TX

In collaboration with the Leander Public Arts and Culture Commission, the City of Leander commemorates Juneteenth with a block party at Robin Bledsoe Park. This free, family friendly event is jam-packed with musical performances, food vendors, and a fun zone.

Creative Action at Juneteenth Celebration Sat, 11AM – 1PM George Washington Carver Museum, 1165 Angelina St Austin, TX 

Creative Action will be providing arts activities that celebrate freedom and honor our family and ancestors. This Juneteenth celebration will be held in the historic Rosewood neighborhood at the George Washington Carver Museum.

Father’s Day with Thinkery | 11-2pm | Meanwhile Brewing

This Father’s Day, celebrate with crafts and activities with Thinkery! The local children’s museum will be onsite at Meanwhile from 11-2pm.

While this event is all ages, kids aged 10 and under will probably enjoy the activities best. There will be Patch Felting, open play at the Imagination Playground, and Ramp Racing!

Our playground will of course be available, and we’re pouring cold drinks (for kids and parents!) in our taproom. Pueblo Viejo is serving breakfast, and all of our trucks will be open for lunch.

This event is free to attend. An RSVP does not guarantee availability of craft supplies (though we always do our best to have enough for everyone!). We always recommend arriving early and finding tables.

Father’s Day Concert in the Park | 7:30pm | Zilker Hillside Theater

Austin Symphonic Band celebrates Dad with this annual concert at the Zilker Hillside Theatre. The band will perform a selection of patriotic melodies and family favorites including works by Frank Sinatra, John Philip Sousa, George Gershwin and Andrew Lloyd Weber.  Audience members are encouraged to picnic and spread a blanket under the pecan trees at the Zilker Hillside Theatre to celebrate Dad this Father’s Day!

Father’s Day at Jester King | All Day | Jester King

Join us for Father’s Day at Jester King to enjoy some classic cars and beer with 12 King Classic Car Club! This is an entirely free event and open to all ages!

We will be having a book trailer pop up by Lioness Book Trailer to get your dad some much needed new reading material!

Jester King Kitchen will be whipping up a delicious mesquite pulled pork sandwich with ancho chile bbq sauce, jalapeno lime slaw, pickled fresno chilies $12

We will be open for normal business hours from 11:00 – 8:00 pm with the Classic Cars hanging out from 1:00 – 3:00 pm
