Texas Autism Walk

The Texas Autism Walk is in its 16th year and was created by the Autism Society of Texas to support the Texas Autism community. This year’s Walk is Saturday, May 11, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Volente Beach Waterpark (16107 FM 2769, Leander, TX 78641. Volente Beach is a boutique waterpark with four acres of Lake Travis waterfront that includes a beach, two swimming pools, grassy play areas, and a sand volleyball court. The Texas Autism Walk will take place on the lawn near the stage and includes a resource fair and family friendly activities. Participants have access to the Volente Beach water activities for the entire day with an Autism-friendly focus from 9am – 12 pm. There will be complimentary Starbucks coffee and other beverages, food, and breakfast tacos available for purchase. A limited number of sensory kits with noise-reducing headphones will be available per household with members living with Autism. People can register online for the in-person event or for a virtual walk from anywhere in the state. A discount is offered for single registrations of 2-6 people. Families and friends are encouraged to join or start a team. The Texas Autism Walk benefits the Autism Society of Texas, helping the organization continue to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. Funds raised will support their free social and support events, the Navigating Autism program, education, advocacy, and community inclusion work for children and Autistic adults and their loved ones statewide.
