Happy weekend! With so many amazing events going on in our city, it can be hard to pick and choose what to fill your family’s calendar with. We’re helping out with a little round up of our fave events this weekend in Austin!

“Friday Fun Nights” at Yonders Point IS BACK for 2023! Join your Parks and Recreation Department for the FREE “Friday Fun Nights” at Yonders Point at Old Settlers Park. Bring the entire family and enjoy fun themed activities on select Friday nights from May through September.

Yonders Point, located just southwest of the baseball fields in Old Settlers Park, is a place where families can picnic and enjoy an amazing view of Bright Lake. The plaza includes landscaping and trees, pergolas with swings, terraced seating and lounges.

The City built Yonders Point with the intent to create a beautiful space for reflection and passive recreation, distinct from the active recreation currently offered at Old Settlers Park. Yonders Point can be found on the north side of Old Settlers Park, which is located at 3103 Aten Loop.

Citywide Vintage Sale | May 20-21 | Palmer Events Center

Shop for vintage finds with the whole family. $9 at the door (kiddos 12 and under are free!) and admission is good all weekend.

Toddler/Parent Yoga | Saturday May 20 | Mueller

Bring your toddler(s) to sing, move, and play in this outdoor 30 minute parent & child yoga class. We will combine yoga poses with engaging songs, breath, & relaxation.

Spring Flower Box Craft | Saturday May 20| Lowes

Just in time for the heart of Spring, build a Pop-Up Flower Box with your mini-DIYer. Kids will learn basic building skills while they create a gift that’s sure to make your indoor garden smile.

Honeycomb Kids Concert | Saturday May 20 | The Hive

Saturday mornings are for family friendly kid concerts! The Hive has some great Saturday morning musicians. Come enjoy Groundwork Music Orchestra, Strawbitty Yops, or Staci Gray, Saturday mornings at 10am. The kids can get their wiggles out and grownups can enjoy a cold brew coffee or mimosa.

 

Kerbey Lane’s Market Days | Saturday May 20 | Kerbey Lane Village

Have fun cooking out in the parking lot and have fresh produce, artisan bread and other goodies available. There will be face painting and kids crafts. A fun events for all ages. Free!

Bluff Schuetzenfest 2023 | Saturday May 20 | Kreische Brewery

Celebrate the history of the Bluff Schuetzenverein, a German marksmanship and social organization which once made its home on the grounds of Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill state historic sites. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Bluff Scheutzenverein hosted dances, concerts, picnics and shooting competitions which welcomed people from across Texas. Sites staff and volunteers will commemorate these traditions with a day featuring entertainment, community booths, family activities, living history demonstrations, special tours, food and drink, and more.

The FREE Family Fest features Something for Everyone, All Day Long, including:

FREE DAYS | Sunday May 21 | Zilker Botanical Garden

On Free Days, no admission price is required, but donations are always welcome. You can reserve admission for free days via the General Admission button above.

The Garden is a sanctuary, a place to be in touch with the seasons and refresh our spirits. That is why the City of Austin in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department offers “free days” to  Zilker Botanical Garden, thus waiving visitor fees.

Kids Day | Sunday May 21 | Dell Diamond

Kids Days are every Sunday home game at Dell Diamond for Round Rock Express Baseball. Check out free inflatables, train rides before the game, and the chance run the bases after the game.
