Lace up your running shoes and tie them with some jingle bells! Ready to run for the holidays? There are plenty of season-theme holiday runs in Austin, including kid-friendly fun runs with holiday celebrations following the main event. You may even see Santa or catch the Gingerbread Man!

Thursday November 28th

Cedar Park Turkey Day 5K

9:00 am

Cedar Park. This is a Family Fun event close to your home and the right distance for you and your family to come out have a great time and make home in time for Turkey.  The course rolling hills but fast! The Race will consist of two main groups of folks. You can choose either be a Turkey or a Hunter

Drippin’ with Thanks 5K

8:00 am

Austin. On November 28th we will be having the 6th Annual Dripping Springs Thanksgiving Day 5k fun run in Highpointe! All of the proceeds will be donated to local families in need. This race is organized and run by a few of our Dripping Springs students and their families trying to give back to our community.  All proceeds go to Helping Hands of Dripping Springs. $1 equals 1 pound of food, so any contribution helps immensely! We hope y’all come and join us this Thanksgiving to kick off your holiday!

Pfeathered PFun Run

Pflugerville. Come and run with us turkeys! What better way to get your Thanksgiving Day started than with a great energy-raising run? Well, how about a Thanksgiving Day run that also supports local food pantries?

The Pfeathered Pfun Runs take place Thanksgiving Day. Choose to run either a 5K or 10K, depending upon how hungry you want to be for dinner. For the younger runners, we also offer a Little Trotters Kids’ K.

Each year since the inaugural event in 2014, this event has grown in popularity. We celebrate each finisher with medals, t-shirts and lots of pumped-up cheering! We are very excited to once again present this event in 2019.

For those who would like to participate in the run but are not in town Thanksgiving morning, there is a virtual run option available. Same finisher medal, same t-shirt – you just do the race distance you choose on your schedule, wherever you may be.

Round Rock Turkey Trot

It’s that time of year again, we are excited to announce the third annual Fleet Feet Round Rock Turkey Trot with the help of the City of Round Rock and the Parks and Recreation Department. Challenge your family, friends, and co-workers to come out and run on the roads and trails through the scenic and historic Old Settlers Park. The race will feature an untimed 5-mile and 2-mile run/walk. There will be sponsor booths, refreshments, and finishers medals!

This is a family-friendly race. Strollers and leashed pets are welcome. Runners/walkers with strollers will be the last group to start. No bikes or scooters allowed on the race course. Both courses stay on paved paths. So put your turkey in the oven and join us for a fun Thanksgiving morning.

Proceeds will be shared between The Round Rock Serving Center, Operation Blue Santa, and the Backpack Coalition. We will be collecting non-perishable items for the Round Rock Serving Center and new toys for Operation Blue Santa.

ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot

Austin. The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot is the largest five-mile run in Texas, and the second largest Turkey Trot in the state. More than 20,000 people from 48 states participate in this beloved Thanksgiving Day tradition each year, which is made possible with the help of our generous sponsors, 600-plus volunteers, and our dedicated . The Trot also features live music, post-run snacks, children’s activities, raffle and runner prizes, fundraising opportunities for Caritas of Austin, and more.

Georgetown Turkey Trot 5 Miler

8:00 am

Georgetown. On Thanksgiving Day,challenge your family, friends, and co-workers to come out and run on the roads and trails in Georgetown that starts and finishes in beautiful downtown Georgetown on the square. Both distances start at 8 AM.

Proceeds will be shared between the Williamson County Meals on Wheels and Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation (Park Pals). We will also be collecting nonperishable food for The Caring Place.

Saturday, November 30th

Round Rock Rotary Reindeer Run

Round Rock. The Rotary Club of Round Rock Sunrise and the Round Rock Parks and Recreation present the ninth annual Reindeer Run. By participating in a 5K family fun run, you will be helping to raise funds for the maintenance and improvement of the Play for All Park in Round Rock for children with cognitive or physical challenges. The Play for All Park opened in March 2012, was expanded in 2017, and use of the park has been beyond our expectations.

Jingle Bell Run 5k

Bee Caves. Join us for 5K Jingle Bell Run, presented by the Bee Cave Chamber of Commerce! This event includes live music, food & beverages, and as always, great swag bags and lots of fun!

2019 Trail of Lights Fun Run

6:00 pm

I’ll Walk, Yule Run. Then Have Some Fun!

Be among the FIRST of the season to see the Austin Trail of Lights. Run, jog or stroll a 2.1 mile, untimed course – starting at the iconic Zilker Holiday Tree and moving through the beloved Austin Trail of Lights in your best holiday costume. Then stick around for the ultimate after party celebration – the Finish Line Festival – located in the heart of Zilker Park.

Mosaic Trail Run

A community running event right on the outskirts of Austin, TX, at a historic Texas landmark ranch.  Mosaic Trail Run was designed to bring people together for a common goal of being united in beautiful scenery, and having adventures together.  Host to a children’s trail run of 1 and 2 miles; the Texas Trail State Championships for Middle School and High School; and regular open 5k, 10k, 15k, and 13.1 mi races.  Liberty Hill, TX.  Indian Mound Ranch.

Old Town Rudolph Run 5K

Leander. The 4th annual Old Town Rudolph Run 5K takes place in Old Town Leander. This chip timed event starts in the heart of Old Town and tours through the streets of Leander. The course is flat and fast with no hills or rough terrain. The post-race festival will include children’s activities, food trailers, & entertainment. This 5K will have limited participation, so sign up early to ensure you can join us for this exciting event.

Austin Jingle Bell 5K

Austin. Calling all runners (and walkers) near and far! It’s time to kick off the holiday season with the 24th Annual Austin Jingle Bell 5K!!! Join us on December 8th 2019 at The Domain, Rain or Shine! Partake in the Holiday festivities that kick off at 8 am including a Chip Timed 5K and a Kids’ Fun Run!!!

Please arrive and be ready to go at 7:45 am! Experience the family fun with Santa hats, jingle bells, and hanging out with Santa!

The first 1,000 registrants are guaranteed our newly designed event athletic shirt that wicks away the sweat! The top 3 runners in each of the divisions will receive a medal based on their finish! Cedar Park Santa Dash 5K & Kids Santa Sprint

Cedar Park.Come support Vista Ridge Cross Country and Student Charities LISD Backpack “Food for Friends” Program as we host the 6th annual Cedar Park Santa Dash (formerly the Cedar Park Jingle Bell 5K). All proceeds directly benefit the Vista Ridge Cross Country Team and families in need right here in Leander ISD. There are Santa Dash 5K, Kids Santa Sprint, and Santa’s Helper (Virtual Runner) options! The Circus – McKinney Roughs Trail Runs/Relay

Austin. The wildest race of them all. Come experience a unique take on racing. Choose between running solo or joining a team of 2, 4, or 6 to see how many miles you can crank out in 12 hours. Rather just get in shorter, faster miles? Try the 30k and 10k. Either way, you’ll see why we call this race “The Circus”.

The Sights & Sounds of Christmas-Jingle Bell  Run 5K and 1k Run

San Marcos. The Sights & Sounds of Christmas 5K and 1k Jingle Bell Run will be held Saturday December 9th, 2019 at 9:00 am. The course will showcase the beautiful downtown and Historic District of San Marcos. “Course Cert”: # TX15108ETM.  The race will begin and finish at the San Marcos Plaza Park.  Chip timing will be used and Christmas music will be enjoyed along the 5K route!

Sunday, December 15th

ARC Decker Challenge

Austin. Come join us on Sunday, December 15th at 8 AM for the 41st annual running of this classic Austin race around beautiful Decker Lake in east Austin. Each registrant receives a technical race shirt and each finisher receives a highly-coveted Decker Challenge finisher’s medal!

The 2019 Decker Challenge Half Marathon is presented by Rogue Running. The Decker Challenge is the third race of five races in the Austin Runners Club’s Distance Challenge. Net proceeds from the Distance Challenge will benefit The Trail Foundation.

Rockin Resolution Race

Round Rock. Finish this year strong. Begin next year stronger. Come run or walk a 20 mile, 10 mile, 5K or Kid’s K race! This New Year’s celebration takes place on December 30 at beautiful Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas, just outside of Austin.
