The Best Crock-pot Chicken You’ll Ever Have

I’ve cooked a lot of chicken in a crock-pot in my years of cooking and this recipe is hands down my favorite. And it’s SUPER DUPER easy! It’s a heavier chicken recipe and probably shouldn’t be a part of your daily diet, but if you’re in an indulgent mood, this is FOR YOU!

Time: 2-4 hours, 4-6 hours, 6-8 hours…depends on your crock pot!

I have cooked this recipe a dozen times and it only takes my chicken 2-3 hours before it’s cooked thoroughly. If you know your crock-pot cooks more slowly make sure to time your cooking appropriately. You will want to start the sauce when the chicken is 99% cooked.

Ingredients:

6 Boneless Chicken Thighs or other Boneless Pieces

8 oz Block of Cream Cheese

Can of Cream of Chicken Soup

Chicken Stock

Ranch Dressing Mix

Onion Soup Mix

2 Garlic Cloves

Butter

Pepper

Salt (if you feel this recipe needs more)

Cooking Directions:

  • Get your trusty crock-pot out and turn it on the low setting.
  • Place all your chicken pieces in the crock-pot
  • Sprinkle chicken with pepper
  • Sprinkle chicken with entire ranch dressing mix packet
  • Melt 2 oz of butter and pour over chicken
  • Let chicken sit in crock-pot for a few hours until 99% cooked.
  • Get a sauce pan out for the stove.
  • Melt 2 oz butter
  • Cook garlic until golden and fragrant (about 1 minute)
  • Pour ½ cup of Chicken Broth over garlic
  • Cube cream cheese and place in pan
  • Pour cream of chicken soup into pan
  • Pour ¼ to ½ cup of juice from crock-pot into pan
  • Sprinkle ½ package (or full package depending on your taste buds) of onion soup mix into pan
  • Stir together until cream cheese is melted and mixture is creamy

Before you pour soup mixture over the chicken in the crock pot, make sure there isn’t too much liquid at the bottom of the crockpot. Do your best to get rid of most of the remaining liquid.

  • Pour soup mixture over chicken in crock pot. You can continue to let this sit for about an hour or you can go ahead and serve! I’ve done it both ways and didn’t notice a huge difference. You can serve this with a side of veggies, over a bed of noodles, rice, or anything really! It’s delicious by itself too!
