With many of Austin’s restaurants opening back up or offering curbside to-go orders, we can’t help but get excited about summer and adding a shred of normalcy to the day to day. The Oasis | The Oasis is one of the classic restaurants on the lake. Anyone who’s ever visited the ATX has likely been told to check out the sunsets at this Austin favorite on Lake Travis. It’s a beaut for sure!
Hula Hut | If you grew up in Austin you likely hung out all day with friends on a boat on Lake Austin and then sunburned and starving, made your way to this local favorite. The pipeline enchiladas do not disappoint!
Emerald Point Bar & Grill | Emerald Point is on Lake Travis and is a Lakeway local favorite. Whether you’re boating or just want a laid back relaxed vibe, you’ll want to add this one to your list this summer!
Mozart’s | I mean…. what’s there to say? Mozart’s is a huge local favorite. They go all out every year for the holidays and deck the deck out with lights and sparkle to the maximum. Get a good book, grab a warm cup of joe, and head to this stunning spot on Lake Austin.
Abel’s on the Lake | Abel’s is often the forgotten middle child sitting right next door to Hula Hut, but y’all, this is such a cool spot! You can’t go wrong with the views of Lake Austin and there’s easy access if you’re out boating. If were a student at UT Austin you likely remember Abel’s just off campus… well same cool spot, just on the water!
The Lighthouse on the Lake | Put the kids in the car and take the G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S drive out to Spicewood, Texas. The Lighthout on the Lake is in Briarcliff and they have an incredible breakfast spread!
County Line on the Lake | Who doesn’t love some delicious barbecue AND a gorgeous view? Just off Capital of Texas and 2222, County Line has a gorgeous view of Bull Creek.
Sundancer Grill | Sundancer Grill is another Lake Travis favorite. They have outdoor patio seating, a super relaxed vibe, and a primo view of Lake Travis!
Tillery Kitchen & Bar | Hangout on the Colorado River! Located just below the Longhorn Dam, where the Colorado River begins its 292 river mile run to the Gulf of Mexico, Tillery is a waterfront restaurant. The restaurant provides a comfortable outdoor lounge area for group socializing and hanging out with your laptop, a book, and your dog, while having the comforts of food and drink service.
Canyon Grille | Canyon Grille is located on Lake Travis in the neighborhood of Rough Hollow. The first time we ate here, we decided that we not only loved the food, but we loved the spot so much we also decided to call this neighborhood “home” and moved in 1 year later. Breathtaking views of Lake Travis, great food, overall cool atmosphere!
Shack 512 | Shack 512 is located at Volente Beach on Lake Travis. This is a hot spot for kids to play, but if you’re still maintaining major social distance, it’s still an incredible place to take the family for a bite. Volente Beach has been around for what feels like FOREVER and is a local favorite!
The Gnarly Gar | Gnarly Gar is an upbeat floating restaurant on Lake Travis. They offer live music and easy access whether you’re coming from land or water!
Ski Shores Cafe | Ski Shores Café has had a special place in the hearts of Austinites with its laid-back fun, made fresh to-order easy-going menu, full bar, game room, playground and live music since 1954. There’s nothing better than relaxing on the expansive patio along Barton Springs Road or at our original location along the shores of Lake Austin to make you feel like you’re permanently on vacation.
