While camping season is generally considered to be in the summer, Camp Fimfo is making quite the argument that fall may just be the best time for an outdoor getaway. From September through November, Camp Fimfo in Texas Hill Country is hosting Fall Fest every weekend. Campground trick-or-treating, scary stories told around the campfire, a friendsgiving meal at their on-site tavern…the spirit of autumn is alive at Camp Fimfo!

Camp FimfoCamp Fimfo Texas Hill Country opened on July 1st of this year and boasts one of the best spots along the Guadalupe River with stunning views of the rolling, tree-topped hills. The 180 acre property includes full hook-up RV sites with concrete pads for campers and luxury cabins that sleep up to 12 people for glampers. Looking for a parents-only retreat? They also have adorable A-frame cabins for two, tucked right along the river.

Camp FimfoCamp Fimfo is hosting Halloween activities for six weekends, so if you’re looking for a fun and fresh way to celebrate, they’ve got you covered. Compete for prizes by coming dressed to impress or deck out your campsite! Satisfy your sweet tooth with campground trick-or-treating and settle in for an outdoor movie double feature. A fun Halloween movie for the kids, then a scary classic for the parents (PG-13 and up only!). Cap Fimfo

In addition to the themed activities, Camp Fimfo has tons of fun attractions, and nearly all of them are included in your stay! Kids love climbing and exploring the interactive water playground and zooming down the large water slides, both open on the weekends through October. Splash around the large swimming pool or relax in the spa tubs, open daily through November (weather permitting). You’ll also find an 18-hole mini golf course, gem mining, yard games, a playground, prime river access, a cafe and a tavern – all right on-site!

Camp FimfoThere’s also plenty to explore nearby, including the largest and oldest dance hall in Texas, Gruene Hall. The Gruene Historic District is just a 15 minute drive and is an antique hunter’s dream. Grab a tube at Whitewater Sports next door for a float down the river (guests at Camp Fimfo receive a discount). Attend a wine tasting and tour one of the many wineries that call the Hill Country home. Live music fans are in luck, the Whitewater Amphitheater is right next door!
