Austin is an incredibly unique town with so many one-of-a-kind neighborhoods and surrounding areas.  This town truly encourages Austinites to embrace entrepreneurship as well as creativity at the same time as accepting everyone in their distinctness.  We have an incredible amount of local shops and artisans where you can find fun unique gifts to give your family and friends.

While you’re checking off your lists before the holidays, don’t forget these uniquely filled local shops or bazaars in and around Austin.

1| The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar is an iconic Austin event that you cannot miss.  They have over 180 touring and local artists as well as fantastic musicians throughout the event.  They are open daily!

2| Blue Genie Art Bazaar is a “fixture of the Austin holiday season.”  This is truly one of my favorite places to shop to support local and regional artists…from candles with Willie Nelson’s face on them to beautiful art to unique jewelry… this is a perfect shopping stop.

3| A-Town is a fantastic boutique on Burnet Rd in North Central Austin.  They have local artists year round who each have their own section of the store.  It is quite a large space with women and men’s apparel, children’s items and home décor.  Such a great place to find different items or Austin related items plus you are basically supporting your neighbors!

4| Austin Gift Company states they are Austin’s one stop shop for local eccentricities, Texas-themed gifts, crafts, antiques and foodstuffs!  Their websites says “If you don’t need it then we probably have it!”    They are open year round and allow locals to have their own booth or section of the store.

5| Toy Joy or Terra Toys are two great local toy stores in Austin that are fun to visit and shop.  They have awesome different toys as well as unique gadgets and nick knacks.

Toy Joy has two locations…one downtown at 403 W. 2nd St. and 4631 Airport Blvd in Hyde Park area.  Click on the website link for days and times open at each location.  FYI: The location downtown is very close to the new Central Library which is fantastic to visit.

Terra Toys is located at 2438 W. Anderson Ln, open Mon to Sat 9-9, Sun 11-6.

6| Lick or Amy’s or Central Market or Whole Foods Gift Cards are where it is at! Think of that special someone who loves to cook and appreciates local fresh produce or just loves ice cream even on the cool winterish days and nights.  Or Antonelli’s Cheese Shop in Hyde Park.  What a perfect gift card for your friend hosting a New Year’s Party! All perfect for unique stocking stuffer items too!

7| Bookpeople has been around since 1970 and a crowd favorite book store for locals and famous artists.  It has a fabulous children section with very knowledgeable staff as well as a unique toy section.  Either stop by to pick up a gift card for that special someone in Austin or find that perfect bestseller to give as a gift.  Bookpeople is located at 603 N. Lamar and open hours are Mon to Sun 9am to 11pm.

8| Point of Origin is Lakeway’s one stop shop for your gift giving needs.  This great store opened its doors back in 1993 by a mother daughter duo.  They have clothing, jewelry, handbags and even home décor as well as fun gifts to give your family and friends.  Located at 2300 Lohmans Spur #100 and their hours our Mon to Sat 10am to 6pm.

9| Milk and Honey Spa is one of the premier spas in Austin as well as Lake Austin Spa and Resort.  Book a relaxing facial for your BFF or mother or heck…mother-in-law the next time they are in town.  And what a way to say I love you to your husband for Christmas when you book your staycation and couple’s message at Lake Austin Spa.

10| Uncommon Objects and Room Service Vintage, are fantastic local stores that sell antiques and vintage items for that eclectic friend or family member.  Each place has their own unique way of finding those one of kind items.  Click on the links of each name and you can find out locations as well as hours of operation.

11| Grace & Lace for the girl who has everything! We love G&L for everything from socks and accessories to outfits for every holiday party!

12| Thom’s Market is such an awesome shop with everything from local and artisanal food vendors to wines any wine connoissuer would enjoy, and a slew of Austin craft beers. It doesn’t just stop there — they also offer funky gifts, socks, and cards. Perfect one stop shop for stocking stuffers and gifts for anyone hosting a holiday party.

13| Lemon Drop Children’s Shop A 1970’s airstream FILLED with the coolest gifts and clothing for all the kiddos on your list. You can find them on The Lawn (which has TONS of other great shopping) at 2118 S Congress Ave.

14|Rhae – Round Rock Nestled in downtown Round Rock, which is ALWAYS decorated the cutest for the holidays. Rhae is making waves and spreading sunshine. The storefront has been open for just over a year, and they have everything from accessories, to activewear, cozy sweaters, THE BLUE DRESS (iykyk) for everyone on your list.

15|The Merchantile on Main- Round Rock Another sweet Round Rock spot, The Merchantile on Main/ Haute Boutique has amazing styles for women of all sizes, gift items, home goods and more. Join their FB group for live sales and stay up to date with the fun events they have throughout the year.

16| Sparkle Kids Upscale resale in Rosedale. Grab vintage pieces, toys, gifts and more for kiddos of all sizes!
