I’m sure this goes without saying, but y’all…IT’S HOT!! Texas summers mean we all gravitate to as much water fun as possible. I’ve got the tea on the Water Parks in and around Austin!

  1. Rock’ N River Water Park – So much fun for you and your kiddos to spend the day with everything you need. You can reserve a bungalow or cabana and bring your family, friends, and lunch. Tickets can be purchased at the gate, or you can save a little time and purchase in advance online. Season passes are also available. This is also a great space to host a summer birthday party.
  2. Typhoon Texas – There’s food, fun, and WATER. Call up your mom friends and coordinate a play date for the kiddos. This water park is the perfect location for everyone to enjoy themselves. This is also a great location to keep your teens occupied for the summer. Cabana rentals are available.
  3. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels – It’s a little further south but well worth the drive. This resort-style park is great for a short getaway with the fam – choose from hotel-style rooms or vacation homes. Resort guests get early entry. You can enjoy rides, group activities, float on the river, and so much more.
  4. Splash Shack – Escape the heat (AND RAIN!) in Cedar Park. This indoor, year-round water park is perfect for littles.
  5. Lake Travis Waterloo Adventures is a big inflatable water park on the lake. This spot is a great combination of nature and water fun. Enjoy Austin’s food truck culture and a cabana bar.
  6. Kalahari – It’s the largest indoor water park in America and right in our backyards! There is something here for the whole family, for sure. Pack up and spend the weekend or week at the resort and enjoy all the water fun, restaurants, activities/games, and even a little nightlife for the grown-ups. I’d highly recommend scheduling some spa time! All attractions are available to enjoy as one-off activities if you’re not staying. Think family fun with some luxury for the razzle-dazzle.
  7. Volente Beach– Located in Leander, this small(er) water park is packed with fun–you can even stay overnight!

I hope you and your families can check some of these places out and have an amazing time. Traveling can be a bit of a pain. Staying local may be your only option, but who says not leaving home can’t be fun?
