In honor of Martin Luther King, ATX is hosting so many opportunities to convene and share in the journey of healing and transformation together. From food drives, walks, and festivals, there are plenty of ways to get the whole family involved and celebrate MLK in Austin.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Food Drive Support | January 15 | 10-12 | 1100 Kingsbury Street

In honor of Martin Luther King Day 2024, we are hosting our annual MLK Day Food Drive and we are looking for volunteers to help us collect and sort donations! Feel free to bring extra cardboard boxes to make sorting and transporting easier.

If you are unable to volunteer, consider stopping by the Picnic Tables in Kingsbury Commons to donate food! For a list of most needed items, click here.

MLK Day of Service | January 15 | 10-12 | Gustavo L. Garcia District Park

Austin MLK March, Festival, and Food Drive | January 15 | 9am | MLK Statue on the University of Texas Campus

The MLK Community March kicks off on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 9 a.m. with a short program at the MLK Statue on the University of Texas campus. The MLK Community Festival kicks off at 11:15am and will last until 3:30 p.m.; it will include all types of vendors and local musical artists to make this year’s celebration the best ever!

MLK Day Celebration | January 15 | 10-2 pm | 105 N. Brushy St. Leander

In collaboration with the Leander Public Art and Culture Commission, the City of Leander observes and honors the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a march and celebration. The march will leave from Camacho Elementary at 10:00am and make their way to Old Town Park where there will be a celebration featuring performances from dancers, musicians, and spoken word artists.

School is out Monday, January 15th for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but school is in at Figment Creative Labs! Spend the day celebrating diversity and community through art!

Austin Public Library – 8th National Day of Racial Healing 2024 | January 16 | Austin Central Library

Join us for the 8th Annual Day of Racial Healing, a collaborative effort between the Austin Public Library, Austin Community College, and Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation™. This transformative event, taking place on January 16th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Austin Public Library, invites individuals from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures to convene and share in the journey of healing and transformation.
