Driving to Fredericksburg, TX, is a super fun day trip filled with family, friendly activities! My family likes to venture out to Fredericksburg at least once or twice a year.

Here are five must-do things in Fredericksburg with the fam:

1. Visit the National Museum of the Pacific War. This interactive museum is engaging and educational. Filled with so much history, it’s fun for both parents and their kiddos. And, if you go in the summer, it’s a great way to beat the eat. A protip is to check their calendar for reenactments; watching history ‘in action’ is always so fun for our family.

2. Explore Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.Enchanted Rock is large pink granite dome just a short drive from Fredericksburg. Our family loves a hike up Enchanted Rock, but it’ll I would advise to go early to beat the heat. Make sure to reserve your park entrance in advance, as it typically fills up early in the day. At enchanted rock there are also easier trails, picnic areas for families and my kids favorite – the snow cone truck.

3. Pick Peaches at a Local Orchard. Fredericksburg is famous for its peaches. We love to stop at one of the local orchards to pick fresh peaches (seasonal) and berries.

4. Stroll Through Wildseed Farms. Wildseed farms is the largest working wildflower farm in the U.S. Kids can enjoy the beautiful flower fields, butterfly gardens, and nature trails. The farm also has a great gift shop and café. Make sure to try the peach ice cream!

5. Enjoy the town square. A favorite of our family, is to walk the town square. We love eating traditional German food and grabbing some candy, at the local candy store.

These activities offer a mix of education, outdoor adventure, and local culture that will entertain kids and create lasting family memories.
