Hey, ice cream lovers! It’s National Ice Cream Day, and we’re lucky to have some of the best frozen treats here in Austin. Texas heat + ice cream… yes, please.

Below are some of the best ice cream shops around Austin to beat the heat and satisfy that dessert stomach craving. Check the links for current hours and procedures, and show them some love!

Amy’s Ice Creams Multiple locations
A staple Austin ice cream shop. Mexican vanilla ice cream with strawberries is a go-to.

Anti Social Ice Cream West (Oasis)
A vegan, dairy-free option near the lake. Gluten-free brownie and cookie options too. Perfect to cap dinner at the Oasis.

Austin Scoops SW Austin
Offers super premium, homemade ice cream and non-dairy sorbet.

The Baked Bear Seaholm District downtown (next to Trader Joe’s)
Funfetti cookies, blue bear batter ice cream, fruity pebbles topping and a lawn for the kids to run around while you people watch.

Cold Cookie Company Campus & 620
Personal favorite for ice cream + cookies. Split the unshake with someone!

Cow Tipping Creamery Sunset Valley
One of the places you need to take your kids for a crazy milkshake or sundae. And then maybe post a picture to your Instagram 😉

Holla! Mode Barton Springs Road (next to Chuy’s)
Thai style rolled ice cream. Instagram and bite-worthy.

Ice Scrapers Campus
Another rolled ice cream truck, behind the Co-Op. So fresh, so yummy.

Lick Honest Ice Creams South, North & East
Seasonal and sustainable artisan ice creams that celebrate the flavors and culture of Texas.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Domain + South Congress
Some of my favorite splurge pint ice cream, and even better from the store. Unique flavors that are worth the splurge.

Manolis Ice Cream, Pastries & Cakes South 1st area
A food truck made for your dessert stomach… you know what I’m talking about.

Michoacana Natural Ice Cream North Austin
All-natural at a whole new level with unique ice creams, popsicles and MUCH more.

NadaMoo! South Lamar
Both classic and unique flavors, all dairy-free. Find them in stores too.

Prohibition Creamery East 7th
Boozy ice cream (sundaes, shakes, floats and even cocktails). Technically there are non-alcoholic options, but shhhhh, just don’t tell the kids that.

Scoop n Score Cedar Park
Locally-owned parlor serving up Graeters ice cream scoops from Ohio (founded in 1870!). Check out their “about us” story – it’s great.

Sweet Charlie’s Rolled Ice Cream Round Rock
When Round Rock Donuts posted a mouthwatering photo of Sweet Charlie’s featuring RR donuts in their ice cream, they were automatically added to my list!

Spun Ice Cream East & limited menu at the Domain
Specialize in fresh, seasonal ice creams, spun to order using liquid nitrogen. So fun to watch them make.

Sweet Ritual Airport Boulevard
Amazing gluten-free and vegan ice cream options for a wide variety of dietary needs.

Tiny’s Milk and Cookies Austin 35th Street
This place is the cutest, and their brownie ice cream (chocolate ice cream with actual brownies blended in) is so rich and dreamy. A personal favorite for sure.

Tropical Dreams Austin Campus
Super premium, gourmet ice cream made in Hawaii, really. No plane ticket required!

The Yard MilkShake Bar Austin + Georgetown
These milkshakes are crazy! Mine came with a slice of cheesecake on top! Grab a fellow ice cream-loving friend, and add the experience to your ice cream bucket list.

Y’all there are way too many ice cream options in and Around Austin – even beyond this list of shops – to miss out on the deliciousness.

How did you celebrate National Ice Cream Day 2020?!?
