Dear Austin Mom Readers, I’m Jacy Knoop-Troullier. I am delighted to share the chaos and excitement of my happy blended family as well my fertility journey with you! I am originally from Omaha, Nebraska, the youngest of 4 kids, and lived in 7 different states before settling down in Round Rock, Texas. I studied at Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha and graduated from South Dakota State University (Go Jackrabbits!) and became a lifetime member of Chi Omega. I have worked in the film and television industry in a variety of roles, (I can memorize anyone’s complicated coffee orders!!), since the time I was 14 and love being on and around production sets. My current role is Travel Coordinator for the TV Show, “WALKER” being filmed in and around Austin, Texas. I traveled to over 22 countries, many times for different production work, and sometimes just for the backpacking adventures. I love learning about different cultures, experiencing local festivals, and photographing my way around the world.

I met my husband Sebastian Knoop-Troullier while attending the Sherwood Forest Faire in 2018. He is a Hamburg, Germany native and is a dual citizen along with my two step kids, Kera and Katie. I always thought solo adventures were the best, but experiencing the world through the eyes of my teens has been life-changing for sure! When Sebastian proposed to me in 2019, we planned out our elaborate Scottish castle wedding, complete with a live owl flying in as ring bearer, and then covid happened. We improvised and had a small ceremony in my parents’ backyard on the 4th of July, 2020 (Hey, free anniversary fireworks for life!) with over 300 friends and family members joining us via Zoom. We even finished off the ceremony with a full wedding dress pool plunge.
We celebrated our one-year anniversary by taking the teens on a 9 country tour of Europe for a “family honeymoon”. We sailed in Denmark, climbed the Eiffel Tower in Paris, watched the full moon rise over a villa in Italy, got caught in a downpour in Belgium, road mountain coasters in the Alps, and ultimately grew even closer as a family unit. We can’t wait to plan this year’s big trip. Sebastian and I started our fertility journey to add to our family after our summer wedding. We have had a lot of ups and downs, more blood draws than we can count, and have extensively researched the resources available for Austin moms facing the same journey. It’s not easy, but we are learning a lot and the experience has helped us appreciate the many medical options in the Austin area. Hopefully, I will get to share the journey of my first pregnancy through Austin Moms soon!
