It’s not very often that the Austin Moms Blog team gets together. Now that there is 18 of us, that means 18 different mommy calendars, schedules, and honestly, I don’t think we’ve ever all been in the same room at the same time! Either way, we make our best effort 🙂

We wanted to give you a little recap of our night, because O.M.G. it was amazing! We chose Iron Cactus for a multitude of reasons, but we could’ve been stranded on an island and still would have had an amazing time. You put THAT many women in a room together and there is bound to be an “eventful” night.

But let’s get back to our night! Here are 6 Reasons We <3 Iron Cactus.

1. Margaritas: Typically I’m a vino gal, but Iron Cactus really knows how to do their margaritas! From Mexican to Prickly, they have an array of options and their tequila options and recommendations are bar none.
2. Location(s): Did I mention we have 18 team members? So we live as far South as Buda and as far North as Lago Vista. Some of us are in Pflugerville and some of us are in Dripping Springs. We seriously cover the map of Austin! With locations in Bee Cave, Downtown, and close to the Domain, we knew at least one of the options would work! We decided on middle ground and chose the Stonelake location close to the Domain.
3. Happy Hour Specials: Ummm YES PLEASE! Their drinks are anywhere from $3-$5 for happy hour and their appetizers are $5!!! I’m not gonna lie, happy hours are rare for us moms; however, totally worth it when you make it to Iron Cactus!
4. Mexican Donuts: Okay so y’all… this food item gets a category all to itself. The Mexican Donuts are to die for! My husband loves them, I love them, the kids love them… you CAN’T go wrong with this order. In case you are wondering what a Mexican Donut is… here it is in the flesh. “Traditional Mexican pastry filled with our homemade sweet cream, topped with powdered sugar. Served with our homemade Kahlua fudge sauce.” My mouth is watering just typing about it!
5. Ambiance: So our Mom’s Night Out was just on Wednesday… just so happened to be karaoke night… HYSTERICAL! Seriously, I love karaoke and feel so cool when it’s my turn. So did the avid karaoke-ers that were singing that night! I highly recommend going on a Wednesday night just to hear the rendition of Black Velvet. Seriously though, it doesn’t matter if you want a date night, a girl’s night out, or a family night… any of the locations are perfect and accommodating!
6. Customer Service: I have been to Iron Cactus on numerous occasions and have been to every location…. I have NEVER had a bad experience. Locally owned and operated, Iron Cactus thrives on their customer’s experience.

These team meetings aren’t all Margaritas, Queso, and Mexican Donuts… although there was a ton of all three. We pick each others brains about how we can make AMB a better resource for Austin Moms! We also have so many amazing events coming up that we can’t WAIT to share with all of our fabulous readers. All in all, we talk a little business and then move on to the good stuff… MARGARITAS!
