There’s nothing like a Texas Summer! And if you are from here you know that there’s nothing you can do about it besides bite down and bear it…or stay indoors. Moisture Wicking Clothing

Breathable fabric to keep your littles cool and dry for all-day play? Yes, please! Cool Little Ones is an Austin-based and woman-owned small business with the perfect solution for hot Summer days. Here you can find children’s moisture-wicking clothing from shorts and tees to headbands and the cutest dresses. Stay trendy AND cool! Are you planning a trip to the beach or a playdate in Zilker park? Shop here first.

Portable Fan

We never really think about how hot a stroller can get especially if the child is in a car seat or the stroller lacks a shade. I take my portable fan with us to every outing! It clips onto the stroller and the flexible neck allows you the ability to adjust to your needs. Those Summer festivals are calling your name and you are prepared!

Popsicle Molds

What’s better than a cold treat on a warm day? Popsicle molds are an affordable and simple way to instantly cool down your body. Did I mention they are super easy to make? We use our favorite juice from our refrigerator or if you want to take things a step further, I love to run fresh watermelon through a juicer and make refreshing watermelon pops!

Sun Hats

Keep your little one’s head protected from the sun to prevent overheating. Harmful sun rays can even do damage to your skin while it’s cloudy so it’s important to go the extra mile and cover their heads with a hat! One of my favorite sun hats for my kiddos is from Tula. Their staw hats last years and overcome the beating from our suitcases. You can find yours locally by visiting the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and checking out the gift shop or you can visit the Tula website for more of a selection.

Local Ice Cream

No matter where you are in Austin chances are you are nearby an Amy’s Ice Cream location. Amy’s Ice Cream is known for its famous Mexican Vanilla ice cream flavor. Not a fan? There are 350 other specialty flavors in rotation! They also offer other sweet treats like frozen yogurt, dairy-free fruit ices, and ice cream cakes. A treat to suit every palette and a great way to cool off this Summer in Austin.
